Here's the list of Steelers that made the pro bowl, but hopefully won't be able to play since they'll be gearing up for the Superbowl:

QB Big Ben
WR Antonio Brown
OG David Decastro

That is all..

A couple players I feel were snubbed:
OT Gilbert
DE Heyward

A couple you could argue for, but I understand why they didn't make it:
ILB Timmons
K Bosworth
RB D. Williams

Here's how the rest of the AFC North faired:

Bengals:
WR AJ Green
TE T.Eiffert (this one hurts me, thanks JJ)
OT A.Whitworth
DE Geno Atkins
S Reggie Nelson
(QB Dalton was a lock, and I think it is the reason why Ben made this squad LOL...)

Ravens:
OT Yanda
P Who gives a ****, it's a ******* punter... JK, Koch is a beast.
(Note, no defensive player on the pro bowl. When's the last time that happened?)

Browns:
C Mack
OT Brown
(What else is new? I could have set those 2 on the pro bowl roster in the preseason)

I would of thought Gilbert would of made it. dude has been pretty solid.

I thought Gilbert was deserving, by far his best season as a pro. DeAngelo Williams was deserving as well and Heyward was borderline. They won't be able to play in it anyway.

Heyward is the new Aaron Smith in that he is one of the best defensive linemen in the game, but will rarely get official recognition for it.

As for the actual selections, Brown is obvious.

Roethlisberger deserves it. He's missed some games, but how many AFC QBs have been more dominant in the games they've played than him?

Decastro is good, but probably will never be on Alan Faneca's level.

Wow, i'm kind of surprise Ben made it. he missed a lot of games

He led the NFL in yards per game played and is coming off a year that he tied for the NFL lead in yards... that buys you some grace period... Dalton's injury didn't affect voting. I don't think he will be 100% ready by the playoffs, but he will for the pro bowl... Cinci will be butthurt over it even though Dalton isn't as good as Ben, Brady, or significantly better than a few others in the AFC.

Bos is a kicker and they have to make a name for themselves for years to get these nods...

The D's stats were atrocious this year... even deserving players get bumped for that... Heyward is deserving and he will be rewarded in time... Timmons splash plays were cannibalized by a lot of other ILBs so despite rep he wasn't going to beat the Bad D rep this season. Tuitt isn't established enough. Harrison is way too old and played limited snaps... I honestly think it was more or less fair how it shook out...

Gilbert got snubbed. He only gave up one sack all year. It doesn't matter, we'll be preparing for the Super Bowl.

Heyward, Gilbert and Timmons. In that order. Hopefully ZERO Steelers actually play in that farce of a game.

SUPER BOWL bound so it just doesn't matter............. Not surprised on BEN being picked, just surprised as to even with the number of games missed. Congrates to those who made it.

Salute the nation

Wonder who Kraft paid off to get all the *PATS on the team

I disagree about Dalton's timeline to come back. I don't think he plays in the playoffs this year. He has a broken bone ON HIS THROWING HAND. It's a 6-8 week injury, and on a skilled location like a throwing hand, it goes to the latter for repair. I don't know any bone that heals in 4 weeks, so those reports are blowing smoke. I will put money on Dalton not playing another down this season.

Pro Bowl has always been one year behind.. Heyward should've made it. I bet he makes it next year. How the **** did McCoy make it at RB!?

I thought our kicker should've made it, I thought I heard somewhere he was leading the league in points?

Edit: never mind I just checked, he's not. N.E.'s kicker is leading the league.

Heyward was a bit of a snub but given he is in the 3-4 to be expected. Cam Jordan is another although he suffered being on a poor Saints Defense as well.

How the hell Shady McCoy got in at RB is a joke.

I'm not buying the Malcom Butler hype either sure he made a great play in the super bowl and is having a good year as Pats #1 CB but I think there were others more deserving.

Also Sean Lee was unlucky.

Barr should of got in ahead of Ware and Barndige over Kelce.

He is better defending the pass rush IMO.

And close against the run....

In this pass happy league I would prefer Decastro given a choice.

.

I hear ya man...good analogy...

But all that matters is what the Steeler organization thinks of him..and that was evident with the new contract they gave him, that some of this board thought was a mistake.

Geno Atkins over Cam? IDK. Seems like it's a snub based on our overall slow to develop D. Cam is a beast and I'd take him over Atkins all day long.

Oh I agree about the playoffs, , but officially he is supposed to come back this season and the Pro bowl voting often selects injured players and they have to turn it down... injuries don't change the votes... moreover while the playoffs were only 4 weeks from his injury date, the pro Bowl is on the 31st of January, 8 weeks from the injury....

Like I said , injured or not he wasn't making it over Ben... Dalton was having a good year, Injuries aside Ben was having a great one...

Spot on. If injuries were considered, especially late season injuries, Shady McCoy would not be on that roster.

Brown ate Butler's lunch opening day. Since then, Bellichik has had Butler cover the opposition's #2 WR, and has generally doubled the opposition's #1. IMO, a guy who cannot handle the opposition's #1 receiver is not a Pro Bowl CB.

I thought Gilbert played well enough to make the pro bowl.

It's harder for 3-4 ends to make it. I think Heyward is very good, just a small margin below the pro bowl players at DE. But fear not, this game has a ton of replacement players. He might be invited.
