It will not be hard cutting down to 53 players, the hard part will be to stop cutting.
 
I was hoping landry did great. cut dog killer.
 
God damn I hate Landry Jones. I haven't hated a Steelers QB since Tommy Maddox.

Highlight is probably Scobee, so at least the Steeler tradition of taking 3 instead of 7 will remain intact.
 
Why not put Tyler Murphy at QB.
 
But I hope he's okay....just saw he left the field injured.
 
That doesn't look good. Poor guy.
 
Just keep Will Johnson as the #3 RB. He's just as good as Harris. Harris is nothing you can't grab off a practice squad any week of the year.

I agree. Batch said it during the broadcast, Colbert better be scouring the waiver wires because we need players familiar w the system that is being forced on the defense. I would cut deep into this bunch and get some players who can help. We are gonna need it!
 
the thing is it is rare to make the kind of changes they made this offseason and get anything out of that unit for the first 8 game if at all the first year... it happens, where an overhaul of players and scheme catches fire right out of the bat, but its just not often. its more like the first year of haley, where the offense looked pathetic. it takes time to get on the same page, and pretty much the whole D is different between players and scheme... our only hope is go all greatest show on turf on them... and everyone will be knee shotting ben as much as possible since he gets no calls.. I am not exactly bubbling with enthusiasm here

But if you install a defense that you do not have the personnel to run, is it the players that should be waived?

Maddox was ok in '02. Thank god he put up a stinkfest in '03 cause that gave the Steelers the opportunity to draft Big Ben. I don't think Ben's replacement is on the roster yet. Landry isn't the guy

Ask DL. Everyone was saying we were drafting him 4-3 players but he insisted on running his 3-4 defense. Go figure.
 
Yeah our D coach might very well be a one year option, if he doesn't get some improvement in what is looking pretty painful early on.........
 
Only players I keep from yesterdays version of the Steelers is: Vick, Scobee, and the Punter!
