Sad day for Steelernation. i know there are alot of fans with the "company men" attitude, But losing Bell and Brown.
Game over
I hope they both stay in the AFC and crush Pittsburgh. Just to remind Steeler fans what could have been without Tomlin and the Rooneys at the helm.

The only error the Steelers made with Bell and Brown is not putting the non-exclusive tag on Bell last year.
The non-exclusive tag would have let him see his value and he would have been traded or signed long-term
with Steelers. The Brown thing seems to be all on the player, not sure any organization could handle it any
differently.

STFU! Rooting against your own team means no respect for you, ever! The Steelers offered Bell great deals 2 years in a row and he said "**** you". AB turned into a douche and turned his back on the organization, his teammates and the Steelers fans. But, you go ahead and blame the Steelers for all of this.

I'll take the Rooney's at the helm of the Steelers over any owners ever and anywhere in the NFL.

I too used to drink the kool-aid to the extent that I was convinced I would never see the Steelers be subjected to the type of dysfunction we've seen in recent years, but at some point you have to admit that something is fundamentally broken.

It hasn't just been the issues with Brown, Bell and Bryant, but is also reflected in veterans like Harrison, Blount and Burnett wanting the **** out.

Do not get me wrong, Art II is a far superior owner to the greedy POS that owns the Pirates, but it seems like the apple may fallen a bit too far from the tree here.

Now, I do not think he is directly responsible for this **** show, as Tomlin has been the main enabler, IMO, but his refusal to acknowledge what a disaster Tomlin has become and make the change is squarely on him.

What exactly has the traditional Steelers way gotten us over the past 8 years other than wasting superior offensive talent and a defense that is among the top of the league in sacks every season?

WTF? Rooney's not at the helm?

Team, organization, city above the player.

They come and go. Team stays put.

When everything is finally said and done I'm hoping Mr Art Rooney le Deuce puts HCMT on a very short leash.

Except talent like Bell and Brown do not come and go.
Todd Haley said in a radio show Brown and Bell were the two hardest workers on the team, and brown was the hardest worker he's ever coached.

I'm so frickin' tired of the "Leveon Bell is the greatest running back EVAH" commentary.

James Conner exceeded Bell in virtually EVERY FACET of the game last year. Bell WOULD have been a step down from Conner. Get over him. He's not that good. He can catch, yes. He can run through a gaping hole made by the line, sure. But you can BET he's going to be caught from behind by a linebacker before he breaks a big run. Every Single Time.

It looks like they have started to dig themselves out. It's a start anyways.

**** off with this bullshit.

TO was a hard worker as well, doesn't mean they can't be entitled asshats.

What do you suggest they should've done?
They offered to make Bell the highest paid RB by a mile two seasons in a row.

They made AB the highest paid wr in the NFL. They let him be late to meetings and walk throughs, skip meetings and walk throughs. Let him have his own place off campus at Latrobe, let his social media entourage follow him all over campus.

Hell Yes Wig. Well said! AND JuJu exceeded Mr. Big Chest in Yards, Receptions, AND TEAM MVPs.

**** AB and **** LeMeon.

Sure you can look at hindsight and make logical conclusions. But that wasn’t the mindset of both parties at the beginning.

At the end of the 2017 season Bell acknowledged to the press that “they were real close” to a deal and both sides echoed that statement up to the beginning of FA that it would be done. So as to not allow another team to intervene, Bell was placed on the non E tag to protect their investment for the extension when FA started. Then someone talked to Bell, most likely OBJ, and others in his entourage, agent, who knows. But Bell’s mindset changes to “reset the RB market” and then he “should be paid as a 1RB/ 2WR and to his third tune to the ludicrous 17 mil/year demands when Gurley was given an extension.

Point being...Pitt was negotiating in good faith, Bell started to...then started listening to other people’s opinions. After that, he was all over the place with his demands.

Absolutely.

Only a complete idiot would trade Bell's production costing 17 Million for Connor's production at 500k knowing how badly we needed a defensive playmaker last season.

What exactly have we won with Bell and Brown on the team?
We have won SB without both of them in the past and we will win SB in the future without them.
Exactly what Owners in the NFL do you think could have done a better job?

New England just won a SB without anyone NEAR the talent level of Bell or Brown. Almost every back we have plugged in when Bell was hurt has done almost equally as well as Bell.
All of that hard work and nothing to show for it. A good TEAM will beat a bunch of great individuals every single time.

right or wrong, it's all about the money. It's only a business to them. Hey, that's fine. You have to look out for #1. I don't fault the Steelers because they paid or tried to pay players both very large contracts and it seems it wasn't good enough. I don't understand the ire agaist the Steelers' FO. Should they give blank checks to all of the stars? Where does it stop? They do have a cap. They should cripple the rest of team further to keep satisfying Bell and Brown? The D is already in shambles, but keep tying up most of the money on offense that got the team ZERO SB's with those two.

Will be interesting to see the rest of Bell's career. Could turn out that Steelers dodged a bullet with Bell. Was reading a story today that his weight
ballooned to 260 last year.

I have said it MANY TIMES BEFORE, I would much rather have a team full of average to above average players, who want to win, then a few “exceptional” players with the look. At me attitude.

You have to have the right coach and coaching staff in place though, your system has to be tailored to your personnel, and you have to find ways to get the most out of each of your players. I don't know if our current staff could find a way to win with average to above average players.

Bell was offered a good contract, he threw 12 million away, where will he get close in contract after sitting a year. Brown put himself in a place where he could not admit he was wrong and wrong all year with his actions on the sidelines as well as last game. His ego is his down fall, where he goes more than not Steeler fans won't care.

Bell is a know liar. I take nothing he says to the press or his x teammates as 100% fact. Remember he told the fans he didn't fail a drug test when he knew he did. His trust level as an NFL player is very low. His own OL threw him under the bus. Good bye Me'Von.

Post of the month. Art Rooney II comes across as a soft-spoken man afraid to use the hammer of change he has. He might be allowing his image " the Rooney Rule " to usurp what's best for the team.

Here's the truth, years from now when Ben has retired, fans will look back and say what if Rooney fired Tomlin while Ben was playing well? Yep, we all know it.

You got you're wish with the 2019 Steelers,
From the killer bees to the joke of the league in 2 years or less,
People will realize what was lost when the Steelers get punked by the Browns this year.
