By Brandon Wallace SteelerNation.com A day after Labor Day,*the Pittsburgh Steelers are continuing to do what they can to create more cap space. The Steelers and all-pro defensive lineman, and recently named team captain for the fourth consecutive season, Cam Heyward*have agreed to restructure Heyward’s contract. This is in efforts to have the option to […]

Please DO NOT tell me they are making more room and caved for Bell's ludicrous demands to be paid 17 million a year for multiple years.

Bell can only play for the Franchise Tag this season. Seriously though. How many times do you have to be told this?

What is our cap situation atm?

Not sure where I read this article before all jump. There is a way the Steelers can get around paying Bell for a couple games once and if he comes back and signs. I personally am tired of his BS and hope they just say goodbye and move on.. We seem to be stroking Bell as if one year makes a difference when it is apparent he does not want to be in Pittsburgh. Why continue the agony of listening to all his tweets, raps and total disregard for the organization or players.

ILB Bowman?

An OLB? Any good ones even available?

There are in the area of 12M under. Figure a little for the season and they are looking at around 9M to spend. No availble FA's are worth that right now (there is a reason they are not signed). This is either internal or a trade.

They can wait 2 games to put him on the active roster and not pay him. That is definitely what I would do.

IF he holds out 2-games then HELL yes, do it and don't even look back. USE those two games to get him in shape but if they don't have to pay him then I suppose he just sits and does nothing. STILL hold him for 2-games unpaid.

REMEBER this, he is not under contract so when some fuckhead says he's the best RB in the league, ask which league as he isn't in the NFL league.

I think the Oline will look better without the dancing queen on the field.

Don't bother Still, I've tried to educate him on rules for years now. Just doesn't sink in with him...

Like a never ending cycle of banging your head on the wall.

I think I have asked this before, but I am old and forgot. When and where can I listen to Ben's radio show?

wait ... what?

Ben is signing Bell to appear on Cam's radio show?

Please explain to me why if the Steelers wanted to give him a multiple year deal worth 17 million a year a huge singing bonus, why that can't happen now?

If there some deadline to offer an unsigned player a new deal that I am unaware of?

Are you really that ******* dense?

The NFL’s franchise tag guarantees the player who receives it is due a sizable sum on a one-year deal. But the player and team have until the middle of July to negotiate a long-term contract extension.

This year that deadline came at 4 p.m. ET on July 16, and it affected four players. None got a new deal, though.

Franchise-tagged players are locked into their one-year deals and cannot begin negotiations with their teams until after the last regular-season game of the year.

Okay then. That is for a tagged player.

If the tag is rescinded can a player received a new deal after July 16th or not?

What I'm asking for is this. Is there a way for the Steelers to give Bell a long term deal now or not?

"Rescinding the franchise tag on Le’Veon Bell would be stupid, and Steelers management isn’t in the business of doing stupid things," Steelers.com's Bob Labriola wrote when asked about the possibility of the team rescinding Bell's tag.
