By Mike Ashcraft SteelerNation.com On Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Kennywood Park announced plans for “Steelers Country”, a themed area of the iconic amusement park that will include a record-breaking roller coaster dubbed “Steel Curtain’. A roller coaster is the perfect analogy for tight end Vance McDonald’s first season wearing the Black & Gold in […]

If he can stay healthy, I think he will see a solid season. Especially with transitioning Washington from Bryant.

Vance gives them a level of athleticism they haven't seen at the position since Eric Green. He's still going to drop the occasional ball, but so did Terrell Owens. If he stays healthy, I see him having a big year.

TO had way better hands than McDonald. He has stiff hands for a TE. They are in good position when he catches, they just don't give when the football hits them. He is a high drop receiver, and we have to accept that.

If he stays healthy, Bell will be mad as his receiving targets will drop.

No doubt BELL will be mad but guess what, Bell best realize this isn't about Bell it's about the TEAM and "Ws". Bell is a short timer who isn't going to show up on time. What ever it takes and if bettering the team includes lessening Bells touches, tough **** to BELL.

Again all predicated on his health, but McDonald does create the match up issues that forces some coverage away from AB. I also like Jesse James. He's a good player. Line up two TE's AB, JuJu and Bell. You force them into a heavy package, but you still have four guys (McDonald, Bell, JuJu and AB) who have the speed to beat you after the catch.

I'm a James fan. He's someone I would have on my team in a heartbeat. Makes the tough catches and is a big target. An occasional drop here and there but not a lot. He's solid and dependable.

I agree completely. Not everyone is going to be a pro bowl player. Sometimes it is the solid role player that makes the big plays in the clutch. Its hard not to think of what might have been if not for the stupid catch interpretation of the NFL. McDonald, James and best third of the rest. Wouldn't mind moving past Grimble, but he isnt terrible either. Seems like undrafted talent behind Grimble though the McKever kid does have a big frame. Probably practice squad player.

I'm guessing McD misses at least 6 games....
