By: Brandon J. Wallace SteelerNation.com ** Tuesday, the NFL announced 25 names as semifinalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2021. Among those 25 were two names that stood out to Steeler Nation. Enter Pittsburgh Steelers 6x All-Pro offensive guard, Alan Faneca, and Super Bowl XL MVP, Hines Ward. Both players were […]

I'm not quite sure what the electors have been waiting for with Alan Faneca. He was regarded as the best at his position during his tenure in the NFL. Isn't that the very definition of a HOFer? Here's hoping Faneca and Ward make it, I'm not feelin it though, hope I'm wrong.

It's about time. I hope they don't make them wait until another year. Faneca not going has been frustrating. Let him in!

It's not easy to make it as a Guard. Fanaca has 9 pro boils and 6 All pro's. He will get in. Probably the best run blocking Guard I ever saw.

Ward should get in, maybe not this time.

I just think its sad that being recognized as a top 5 (at the worst) at your position and you have to wait all these years before enshrinement is wrong. These guys, particularly linemen, have put their bodies through hell and quite possibly their brains as well, to not be selected as soon as possible when being recognized as the best or one of the best is sad. There is a chance that some of the players waiting could become mentally incapacitated or even die and potentially not even realize that they are being honored. I realize it hasn't happened yet (as far as I know) but it is a possibility. Maybe the solution is to stop limiting the number of inductees, of course, that will dilute the meaning of a first ballot HOFer.

Players are either Hall of Famers or they aren’t. If you have 10 guys worthy one year put them all in. If it’s 2 the next put in two. Then you wouldn’t have this back log or ridiculous 30-year waits for deserving players.

That is too logical and would eff up the marketing and suspense/drama. And the NFL network have nothing to talk about for at least a few weeks.

Chose one, Ward or Fanica...................pretty hard choice but Fanica would have to be it.

Ward is going to have to wait a year or two longer .

Salute the nation

Faneca has amazing credentials........... over an extended period............. this has to be his year.......

Ward is a different animal at the WR position and that should only help his case for eventually getting in...... can anyone name a more complete player as far as blocking, leadership, toughness and then abilities on top of all that

how long has Charles Woodson been on the wait list.?
