Steelers interested in CBs Marcus Cooper & Brandon Flowers

Business as usual in Steeler land. Resign priority guys AB, Bell (check), sign a couple depth guys (Landry, DJ-check), add a FA or 2 from the scrap heap after the over payers are done and the dust settles pre draft (coming soon), draft what they deem to be BPA after a need based pick in round 1-2, next step will usually move to extending priority guys with 1 year left (Tuitt, Shazier, AV) and finally add a vet FA from someone's cuts...move onto another season as a contender chasing 10-6/11-5 record and hope to catch fire in the playoffs and pray somebody else beats the cheating, MFing pieces of **** that own us.

If you're hoping for any drastic changes in how we build our roster you're only setting yourself up to be disappointed. Business as usual and it ain't gonna change anytime soon.

They signed the best receiver and running back in the game, but I guess those don't count since they're our own.

However, I do agree they need to bring in some players from the outside. They need players that are a good system fit, but also come at a good value. Tough to find guys at the right price when teams are spending tons of money early in this process.

Now, if you want to argue how they spend their money, OK. But they do spend it and to say they don't is ridiculous.

This. The Steelers never have any cap room, so to say that they're "cheap" is so shortsighted, it's not even funny. They make their players the highest paid in the league at their respective positions(Ben, Bell, AB, DeCastro, Heyward), but refuse to pay an arm and a leg for mediocrity. Hard to say anyone can blame them in that regard. Everyone's all over the pats* nuts over the Gilmore signing, but had a team like Washington paid that much to him, you better believe the know-it-all's would be claiming how they overpaid.

Not asking for a lot just one corner. One.

Sure signing Bell and Brown is huge for the O, but there is no hiding for a team appearing in the championship game they have a decent amount of holes.


A good draft would go a long way on helping with that.


But we know the Steelers haven't been lighting it up with corners in the draft outside of Burns.


Just know we will not see a corner in one, maybe not two or three either. Not that I want a rookie CB outside of round 1 thrown into significant playing time this year.

I"m at the point because they missed out on the lesser question-mark corners. hoping before it is all said and done, they bring in two corners....

But how slow this off-season has went I would be ecstatic with one.

Who needs to sign a CB if you can just trade a mid-round pick for one you'll never use instead?

This is actually really getting on my nerves. I know this is how we usually operate but this year was supposed to be more aggressive. We need to draft at least two pass rushers, we need at least one or two more CB's to shore up the position, and we could really use an upgrade in pass catchers (WR or TE) and RB depth. How are we sitting on our hands when we actually have cap space and we actually need the help NOW? There is absolutely no way we can rely on the current roster + drafted rookies to upgrade our pass rush, secondary, and receiving. Healthy and contributing Martavis and Golson will go a LONG way, but we need more. This has been a massively disappointing start to free agency. Massively

The Steelers are year in and year out one of the teams with the highest paid rosters in the NFL, and usually in cap hell. I said since he was release by San Diego, he fits out system very well and he has been a pretty good corner when healthy. I think his career is better than William Gay and he's an upgrade to him.
