Not high on Flowers with his injury history, but would be happy with Cooper.

Keep sitting on your hands Steelers that window is shrinking.

That is what we do at this time of the year. . ...sit on our hands and sign our own guys back....while the Pats keep on improving.

normally I would agree with their approach

but this isn't normally anymore.

We need to get over the hump with what little Ben time is left.

They should have taken all the steps necessary with that in mind.

Instead it is the same ho hum slow for anything to develop mentality.

Can't say I am not irritated.

Guess locking up Brown and Bell is nothing. How would you have spent that cap space?

Lol...Yep. I feel we can take on the Pats in the playoffs again next year and beat their *****. Just locking up AB and Bell was all we needed to do. It will put us over the hump I'm sure.

so what's your magic plan to find cap space this offseason and bring all those FA that will make us SB Champions?

No way to Flowers. Concussion history and playing DB? Hell to the no! Cooper would be a yes but not for $10 million. $8 million would be my top top dollar.

You make AB play out his final year, franchise bell, sign a top notch cb

Sign someone like Bouye for 12 million per season. I'll pass. Everyone is overpriced in free agency.
Sign a couple vets that want a shot at a championship at reasonable price and draft well.

Yeah but can those vets play the way you need them to play? It doesn't matter if they want a shot, can they do what we need them to do

What in the world does Tomlin not get. Every team looks for fresh meat that wants to play we sign same old meat that sit around and collect a pay check. Does any of this make sense, we make it to the AFC championship game and see our weakness and we sign the same players back. No wonder the Pats beat our ***.

I'm not gonna panic because we didn't sign anyone yet. They'll make a few moves. They always do.

And for what it's worth almost every CB that signed a huge deal sucked last season.

Meanwhile the team that beats our *** adds another weapon at TE and another top notch CB

and are about to trade their backup QB for a first round pick

Flowers has always really fit what we do scheme wise. And I think the Steelers have always liked him as a player. The price has always been too high on him and the team to get together, but maybe that changes with a small 2-year deal now.

When he plays, he's actually pretty decent. Obviously, he's on the downside of his career, but as an insurance policy to our starters and a depth signing, I'm okay with it.

You guys that think we are going to sign any one of the big name free agents in this crazy priced market just don't get how we do things. For good or bad, this team strives to be 10-6 every year. That's the benchmark. We will never risk not being 10-6 trying to attain a 13-3 or 14-2 type team. That's not how we operate.

Janoris Jenkins sure would look good at corner opposite Burns

Flowers is on the bad side of 30. I'd rather snag another young CB in the draft.

I don't know. Maybe do as Coryea says....but if we would me the Pats in the playoffs again do you see the end results changing with what we have done?

Flowers fitting our scheme is the last thing I want to hear. I want to hear we are bringing other people to fit our NEW scheme. **** our scheme.

I don't think signing Flowers will affect our draft plans.

But this team always like to fill in ALL it's holes before the draft so it doesn't have to force a position. Not saying they always do that or they haven't forced positions under the Tombert regime (I think they have).

Flowers = Arthur Moates type signing.

Remember, when you understand every move the Steelers make is trying to maintain a 10-6 team, then all their moves make complete sense. They do not get into arms races with other teams. They don't care what other teams are doing. They don't care about who they have to get "through" in order to win the Super Bowl. They only want consistency and then expect the coaching/luck to push a 10-6 team into post-season glory. I think they honestly believe playoff runs are just right place, right time success. And that if they just continue to give themselves opportunities in the playoffs, eventually they will win one.

They don't build teams to be dominant. They build teams to be consistently good.

They need to build to win now, because when Ben is done, we'll be crap for a couple seasons any ways
