Steelers have traded for Jalen Ramsey.

We don't have to look at Minkah, Najee or George anymore. So glad to see a different look this season. BUT, we go nowhere until Tomlick is gone. We just aren't a serious organization with that clown.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and admit I could be totally wrong, but I am sensing you don't like Mike Tomlin as a coach.

Am I reading waaaaaay too much into your comment?

Yeah but he can block great for a safety, and that’s important. I heard the chess piece Ramsey will be used as a LT as well. He has amazing feet, agility and speed for that position.
Maybe Mount Washington can play EDGE rusher if the Steelers trade TJ for Terry McLaurin.

You must admit, he is going at it in a genuis sort of way. Tomlick instead of Tomlin! Get it? Smart stuff.

Unless Ramsey is just overjoyed with the idea of playing safety I don’t see it. He hasn’t been the best attitude guy over the years so this type of change is hard to see working.

It is 3 solid corners with him, Slay, and Porter if all can stay healthy.

Who is playing safety next to Elliott??
Thornhill if he stays healthy.

No serious Steeler fan likes that freeloader.

Watching a recap of the trade on McAfee w/Shifty. They keep throwing a graphic up showing Smith, DK, Rogers and Ramsey. Smith is wearing #9...shee-it...Boz ain't giving that up.

Someone said after the first year.......that's a little rough. I'd say last two have been sub par. He made up for a lot when the ILB'ers were ***. The gap between the Linebacker coverage and him was terrible last year. At one point one defender said we are playing with 10 guys out there. Could have been Sutton or it could have been Minkah. They are both gone now.

They really put their Johnsons out in the wind on this one. His cap numbers are big next three years and it ain't cheap too cut him. I read an article where it was like.......Kahn is putting his job on the line. Kahn negotiate the deal but no way this isn't Tomlin's trade. No way.

I did think CB was the weakest position on the team, but at best this is three steps forward and two steps backward.

The clown car simply does another doughnut down in the ditch….this may push the needle from 9-8 getting the benefit of not watching a WC blowout to 10-7 and getting to enjoy watching another WC blowout.

Darnell Washington was a 3rd round pick, now he is marginalized at best/buried at worst. Cowher’s Steelers wouldn’t need Jannu Smith because they’d know Washington, a 3rd round draft pick was coached up and ready to ball out in year 3 of his career-because that’s what 3rd round draft picks are supposed to be ready to do in year 3, not be a continued outlier.

Now watch them bury Roman Wilson on the depth chart by adding a new WR during camp and Tomlin tell us he’s not getting targets because it’s hard to jump on a sinking ship/moving train/blah blah blah

This team is acting more and more like the Raiders-just add big names who cares if they fit or not. Who cares if you’re bad at drafting and developing young players, just add big name vets past their prime.

I’ll cheer for them to crush it, but if they get spanked in the first round of the playoffs or worse, heads should roll for this offseason role of the dice

Stupid.

wtf

Why we need jonnu , muth and washington? We dont pass enough to tight ends already.
Not stupid.

Jonnu is going to be on the field a lot. I think this is the Steelers' answer to the WR2 issue. You're going to see a whole lot of 12 personnel with Arthur Smith, and Jonnu is very capable of playing out of the slot. Dude had a breakout season in 2024, with 88 catches for 884 yards and 8 touchdowns. He is a good route-runner and another redzone threat. Washington, unfortunately, hasn't shown that type of big-play ability thus far.

Just heard them on the Fan, could JPJ move to Safety?
JPJ can't tackle his grandmother, so that would seem unlikely. I could see them moving Trice over there if they don't do it with Ramsey or Slay first. I still like Trice as a corner, but he has the tackling chops to be a solid strong safety.

Speaking of numbers, I'm old school and wish the NFL would go back to more strict numbers for positional groups. It's dumb watching a guys like Patrick Queen and Jalen Ramsey out there wearing QB/K/P numbers.

Still trying to figure out the financials in this deal, but according to Spotrac, Ramsey's cap hit this season is only $5.32 million, while they have Jonnu's listed at only $4.09 mill. Minkah's is $15.5. Then ESPN is reporting that Ramsey is getting a $1.5 million raise, but the Dolphins are paying $3,000,000 of his 2025 contract. And Jonnu is getting a $12 million one-year extension. Not sure how this all adds up, and Ramsey's cap number skyrockets to 17.7, 19.5, and 30.6 in the next three years, so it seems like the Steelers are going all-in this season.

Maybe they are still planning to try and bring in a legit #2 receiver with this year's cap savings. Jonnu adds a much-needed receiving threat, but If they can somehow also fit McLaurin into the mix, they could end up with some serious firepower on offense.

The front office has done quite the job in turning over the roster (including internal changes).

New starters (and many upgrades) or key contributors at:
QB - Rodgers
-Rodgers will be an upgrade over Fields and Wilson--to the point that he won't have total handcuffs like we've seen over the past 4-5 seasons.

RB - Johnson
-Johnson may not start right away, but I think he'll end up being an upgrade over what Harris brought.

WR1 - Metcalf
-He may not have the flair for the spectacular, but Metcalf will give more of an effort and consistency.

WR2 - Austin
-All he has to do is be better than Van Jefferson...not difficult.

TE - Smith
-He won't be as productive in Pittsburgh as he was in Miami, but it gives the Steelers legit threats in 12 personnel.

LT - Jones
-Who knows? Dan Moore was very good early and then stunk. Jones will probably be up and down all year.

RT - Fautanu
-There were reports he was living up to the hype last year in camp. We'll see.

DE - Harmon
-It's a lot to as a rookie DL to start right away, the Steelers will need a big impact.

CB - Slay
-Jackson created turnovers, but overall wasn't very good. Slay's wheels could fall off at any point, but he was solid last year.

CB - Ramsey
-Ramsey was still very good last year and will give the Steelers their best set of CBs in years.

S - Thornhill
-Hopefully they'll add another UFA.

Other than maybe LT and S, the Steelers have upgraded at a lot of positions. I think Harmon will need some time, but on paper this team is better than last year. Roster wise, they made the changes. Now, do I trust that the coaches can make it work? I don't have as much confidence there.
