You do realize that Steelers Depot is someone else's opinion and it means no more or less than yours or anybody else? Unless you have the playbook in front of you and you know what the read progressions are on any play or who the decoy is, who is only there as a rub...etc all of the video in the world will not tell the whole story. When the Steelers release their video critique of the game, then I will believe it to be accurate. You can find an open receiver on almost any play, but if that is your fourth read and you only get to the third it doesn't mean squat.
Which doesn't mean **** when the play shows the QB staring down one WR. Of course if it was Landry Jones then this would be right and accurate.
Where did I say that? I'm talking about the plays illustrated.More hyperbole, so EVERY play Ben NEVER checked off of his first read.

So on select plays Ben threw the ball to his first read. Once again, there are plays and even called plays where the ball is designed to go to one person...unless you have the playbook (Steelers Depot doesn't count) then you have no idea the actual play design or intention. Kind of like blaming Golden for the blocked punt without ever knowing what Golden said or gestured to Davis pre-snap. Videos only tell so much.

And if we switched to the 4th quarter offense sooner we may have been up 21-10. Yes there are plays to be had, but again, sometimes your player or players are struggling, you don't just continue to watch and say, well that's the game plan, running bell was not working, if that was because DeCastro and the rest of the Oline couldn't get a push, then you have to change some things, Baltimore had more guys than we could block on a few occassions.
Look at 2005, we were a primary running team all season, and we were good at it, but at least Cowher had the balls to try something different in the playoffs, knowing everyone would be keying on the run, we came out throwing the ball all over the place.
I have no problem attempting the game plan, that's not the issue, but it's being so damn stubborn that you stick with it for almost 3 full quarters.
Because the game plan they worked on had him under pressure on his first pass, and had him blind sided on his second pass.
And if you're blaming Ben for being off, then you're proving everyone's point, you do whatever he wants or I'd most comfortable in. You, I and pretty much every Steeler fan knows he's at his best in that no huddle quick pace offense.
As a Coach and you see your best player struggling, along with your entire offense, would you not ask him whst needs done to help him or what would he prefer they do?
He held the ball because his read on the first play wasn't there so he did what Ben does..we already discussed the second Play and how or why you still insist on putting that on coaches says Alot.
If Ben was healthy you would have more of a point to me. But if all week your gameplan would be to minimize hits on your QB. Wouldn't spreading the offense and running no huddle where there is more risk for communication issues on the road be a risk to getting him hit more often?
No problem I agree the issue is you and others thought that after the first quarter and the coaches didn't think it was until after it became 21-0. Do you agree that if maybe the pass plays that were called were executed that it may of influenced the coaches to make that change quickerIt might, but when your game plan is getting stuffed in your face, as some point it becomes about winning the game.

Exactly cause there would of been no need to make a drastic change to what was practiced all week. Because those passes would of resulted in First downs some TDs and at the least field position.Asinine. Why would Ben completing passes that are a part of the original game plan make the coaches change to a different game plan sooner? That makes absolutely zero sense.

also at the least they maybe would of had more confidence in that he was truly ok to run the offense we usually run. But since he wasn't himself what makes them think more passing was the answer.

If the QB is healthy and not coming off surgery your opinion would have validity. If the score was 21-0 second quarter and not 10-0 it would have some validity. If the QB was playing well and making smart decisions etc etc.Round peg, square hole. Lather, Rinse, Repeat. As soon as most people see the game plan is not working, you would try to change it up. Especially since the Ravens sold out to stop your running game. Doing the same thing REPEATEDLY and expecting a different outcome is IDIOTIC. Change it up and see what happens, you know, kind of like the last half of the 4th quarter.
So what was the problem before that? Not in the running game. Talking about Ben??I would say the last half of the 4th quarter is why.
