Steelers Free Agent James Conner Visits Arizona Cardinals

We could be royally screwed at the RB position going into the season
We were royally screwed at the RB position going into last season...Let's get us a stud in Rd. 1

1.25 million. seriously we couldn't have offered him that? that is crazy. he played hard for us. he is worth more than that.
that's borderline criminal to let him walk for that. We need a big, featured back, but Conner could have been his back-up/change of pace back for even $2M.

As much as I like Conner, he was not a feature back and he was ALWAYS hurt. You couldn't rely on him. He had to go. Plus, if he wouldn't have apparently injured himself on a "recreational vehicle" and had surgery during the offseason, he would have gotten more than a 1-year prove-it deal.

And it's only a one-year contract. Doesn't sound like AZ is too into him either.

Kinda says how they feel about him as a player. I personally would've kept him for that price.

Instead of having a cheap option like Conner, who's proven to be a productive back, the Steelers will try to force plays to Samuels and McFarland.

1.25 million is a steal. I’d have thrown 1.5 million with another 5 million in incentives. Like 1k for every yard rushed. If he runs for 2,000 yards that’s 2 million. Another 1k per receiving yard. And 50k per td.

If they can get the Oline fixed or at least decent, they won't have to force plays to any RB.

They can fix the OL but Snell, McFarland, and Samuels is a terrible backfield.

We could have kept Connor for cheap as a backup or plan B. Worst case would have been he was our starter with a probable improved line. Now we are pretty much forced into a RB and teams know we like Harris. If Harris and TE are gone i think we will reach for Williams in round 1. I just feel like we painted ourself into a corner

Shows just how little anybody really wanted him. Its not just the Steelers who see him as used up

It's very possible 2 of the top 3 backs are gone by 1.24.

Their high on Ballage.
No offense to Connor.. but he had his opportunities..
also..we could see a back in first three rounds drafted

I wouldn't be happy with that pick in the 2nd round
I think they take a RB in 1 or trade down 1 then up in 2. In that scenario it wouldn't be Sermon IMO.

AP had interest to come here than we saw Ballage signed Samuels role can be replaced by Mcfarland and if we got Ettinie Harris Williams all can catch Samuels all he can do is catch swing passes or dump-offs, I say with Samuels only carrying s 984 K cap number in final year with saying one of the top rookie backs Snell McFarland ballage AP let them all compete AP is a guy that can mentor McFarland and the rookie and still be a short-yardage back him vs Ballage.
by bringing Vince back you are shoring up vet depth and focusing all eggs in 1 basket depth everywhere to make a run for ring 7. Adding another vet who would likely be motivated to finally get a ring would help the locker room. As well I would still monitor adding a vet CB from this group
- Norman
- Sherman
- Alexander
- Kirkpatrick

Sherman may be time to move to S but in zone and press he can still cover and tackle, still, lack of interest on the market in all these vets after the draft teams will start to eliminate some of the above helping lower thier cost. I also would follow Eric Fisher as he has had surgery but should be ready can be had cheap lets see what OT we get in the draft.

Patience young padawan..........................

The DRAFT will change that backfield..!

Salute the nation
