Camp arm. Haskins has issues that can’t get fixed.
 
This is a mistake unless he is a bargain basement deal... the guy has the lazy rep that usually kills qb prospects...Akili smith-ryan leaf- Jamarcus Russell... he would probably be the first first rounder I can remember to beat this particular knock...

Arm strength, recognizing defense, footwork... these are things you see college guys have problems with and occasionally beat... but lazy is the one thing that rarely gets better....

If I had to guess I don't think he makes the team based on this. I don't even know if he makes it to training camp based on what happens during the draft. With that said, I don't mind bringing in this type of player as a camp arm.

This move is meh to me. I do not like Haskins as a player or person. Just seems like someone this team doesnt need.

It's well known why he was let go from WFT but nothing was said about his "teammate status" or Tomlin having any intentions of replacing BEN with Haskins.


This is purely a cheap kicking of the tires which one must do to determine with is flat.

And with Tomlin's track record with letting players do as they please.....well the end game of this move doesn't look fruitful.

They have a whole training camp go see how he acts. If he doesn't show out he is gone. And I always ask for extra MSG otherwise they short you.

Hey man! He's the starting Quarterback after Ben is cut.

Peeps be like: we need a Mahomie for QB after Ben. --> Steelers just need a Trent Dilfer and a running back.

Dewayne "Dilfer" Haskins, c'MON down - the price is right.
 
reserves/futures signing. Dirt cheap, no risk. Too many people getting their panties all in a bunch over nothin.
 
If he is awarded anything more than 3rd string ( running the practice squad in camp) it will be a failure.

Obviously some had him as a first round talent. It didn't prove out. So we are stuck with Rudolph who the Steelers had a first round grade on (and it hasn't showed) and now Haskins who was a first round pick (and it hasn't showed.)
It looks like we are very weak at the qb position with nobody on the roster that might spark some excitement. Unless you think throwing interceptions is excitement.
