By Matt Papiernik,*@Matt_Papiernik*on Twitter SteelerNation.com   It is no secret that the Tennessee Titans are the main culprit in causing pain to the NFL due to COVID-19. This is due to the Titans lack of ability to get the virus under control within their organization. The Titans currently have 21 positive tests throughout their organization, […]

Cheap way to get a victory. Wouldn't happen regardless as Godell hates him some Pittsburgh Steelers.

If Forfeit victories are awarded to anyone, I will probably continue to watch cause I love the Steelers, but it would irrevocably taint the season and make it an * for sure. If it comes to that go by winning % and if it is an issue add weeks to the playoffs and bubble in 4 cities.

Yeah whats more likely to happen is some bullshit where some other team we play gets an outbreak and they make us forfeit cause we already had a bye... or some bullshit

the "rog" will NOT award the STEELERS a forfeit, no way no how. We should just be glad we don't have to play the **** NOW with the infected on the field so as to infect us so then the "rog" can award us having to forfeit.

Or the Titans should have just been forced to play the games with whomever they had available with a negative test. The Patriots had to play without Cam Newton. Why should Tennessee be rewarded with postponements for having more players who test positive?

interesting point although the concern, I am sure, had to do with players having tested negative but are still contagious. It can take 5-7 days to show up in tests per Doc David Cho on NFL radio. That said, when we do play the makeup game, I would have no issue with the players who were tested positive for the first game were forced to sit out.

The issue with the Titans, is they never had a day without new positives. If the Pats or KC kept getting positves, they would have extended the delays. In the Titans case, with new positives every day, there is a chance to infect the team you are playing against.

This.

That’s the point everyone is missing. The Steelers would have been foolish to take the field, even against a depleted team. Would it have been worth it if Ben ended up with Covid, and had to sit out in a subsequent week?

Absolutely! If the Bills get a forfeit win, then so should we.

I don't think Goodell will issue a forfeit win, rather I think the Titans will get a warning, fined, and perhaps lose a draft pick.

The tricky part is NFL schedule only has one bye week in it per team. What happens to a team that has already used their bye week if their opponent comes down with too many players and coaches who have covid-19?

The NFL might pivot and space out their games to every two weeks. Some owners might be against it, but it would probably increase revenue.

I am no fan of Roger Goodell. This is the type of situation that needs to be handled correctly. A disaster and he could be fired.

The NFL went into this season with all scenarios covered, least ways in their eyes. Second guessing is our part as we see things current or hindsite.

Let's put ourselves back into time, before the season began and look at what to do vs GREED...........................................................................................................................

Fast forward to current time and you are seeing the results of said GREED.

YES, there should have been a better "no question asked" forfeiture plan.

Bye weeks or spacer weeks included in regular season schedule.

Prior to season start exact dicipline should be known and enforced (not some later memo).

EAVH team accountable, no hand-job favorites.

If the "rogs' " job is on the line then I hope it is a fail to ensure getting rid of him. But REST assured, his job is NOT on the line.

My main concern, other than the health and safety of the players is how will this impact playoff seeding.

Buffalo is expected to contend for their division as are the Steelers and Titans.

When it comes to who plays who, and where, a cheap forfeit will come into play and it is a massive advantage for Buffalo.

Imagine the AFC Championship Game being played in Buffalo rather than Pittsburgh because they had one more win than we did, and it was an on the road forfeit against a contender, now imagine we stomp the Bills on December 13th, 2020.

The **** could be in great shape for the last half of season, with much of team already with immunity.
