UG3 most definitely must be dinged up with that back injury. This is a great move anyways with a guy on an expiring contract. It gives us depth and it gives him this week and next before he will see any game action due to the Rona protocols.
I think our DL is also a little banged up with Cam and Alualu hurting from yesterday. We may need another piece there as well, maybe. Good move Colbert.

Doubt he starts over Spillane given what Spillane has done so far. Spillane is also wearing the green dot. He will definitely get snaps.

The new 3-week IR is a Godsend. I hope the NFL keeps it next year and thereafter. Alualu spends 3 weeks on IR, is back just in time for Thanksgiving.
Read more about this trade. They like that he played in Lebeau's system in TN and under Ray Horton so he will know some of what we do already. This will get him on the field a little quicker than normal circumstances.

I look at it as depth because Spillane is maybe better than expected but he's second-string which leaves a third-string behind him now. That didn't work out so well for the QB position last year.

Williamson was a 5th round pick, which is surprisingly low since he played in the SEC for four years, posted 296 tackles, 4 sacks, ran a 4.56 and did 25 reps.
I think he has to get through 5 days of Covid testing before he can even join the team.
