Steelers can change lthe landscape of the NFL, as the 3 pointer changed the NBA

I think you could upgrade TE and Bryant. Right now, I'd rather have Auden Tate than Bryant.

Maaaaaybe, but I think Bryant could easily bust out this year, if he settles down and puts all the distractions behind him. He certainly has the talent and skill to put up big #'s in this offense.

The one area we need to improve significantly is red zone scoring. I'm eager to see what Randy Fichtner can do for this offense.

unless we get some Gronk. I dont think we could do much better than mcdonald. He catches and runs fine, and his blocking is very good. Maybe an upgrade for Jesse James.

Regarding Bryant. It will be interesting to see what he has done in the off season. THat season off killed him last year.

I really do think that the athletes that put in the time in the off season, get better and or maintain their level of play. WHile others go back to their mansions and watch Netflix. and take vacations.

Not trying to make you look bad but prove it. We gave up Fournette !81 yards rushing WITH Shazier and they ran the same offense and ran over us.

THIS! I've seen Shazier whiff time and time again in the past. His speed is great, but sometimes it is a detriment because he runs himself out of the play. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Shazier, but his injury did NOT lose us the Jax game. We lost that game in the trenches (D line mostly) with NO pressure on Bortles, deer in the headlights coaching, and non-execution all the way around.

I love how they spew next man up ad nauseam, but then Shazier goes down, all you hear about is how the loss of #50 was the culprit to losing in Jax. I've read heard that from Ed, Jerry, and Ray over and over and over again. Next man up, huh?

I say put all your cards on the table and trade up to get the BEST ILB we can, sell out and win now, because when Ben is gone and not bailing out the coaching staff, it won't be pretty. Win now, trade up and bolster this DEFENSE.

The issue was we not only went next man up we went even further down the line to spence and Fort. TM was the next man up and he got hurt too. While he may not have the speed he knew the defence and some of the communication breakdowns we saw may have been minimized if he plays instead of spence

All I’m saying

Our offense once again, was not historic and we have the potential to be just that.

Play to our strength

didnt the Rams try the mega-offense?

I'm not about abandoning the idea of having a talented defense. We still need to compete on that side of the ball.

That being said, if this offense added Sony Michel and Mike Gesicki in this draft (said it in another thread too) I would be ecstatic. We'd be indefensible

I think maybe the Steelers think addition by subtraction with the departure of Haley.... ? IDK But we have all the tools.

And Polamalu wiffed a ton as well. You know what Pola and Shazier had in common? Making plays, and getting turnovers. Without Shazier we lost our playmaker on D. It's the same as if we lost Ben on D. Shazier gave us the potential for a big play, an INT, or a fumble. Offenses started keying on him, and we got other defenders involved in making plays. Take him out and our D was ordinary, slow, and listless.

How did our offense do against the Bears last year? It was pretty offensive if I remember. The offense was better in 2016 then they were in 2017.

The offense won't get as many chances to be brilliant if the defense gets lit up and can't get off the field. You can't make one part of your team strong at the expense of the other. We need to address our defense. You're all 5 wide ******* today but in December and January when our defense gives up 45 ******* points to Blake God damned Bortles at home you're not going to remember 5 wide *******. You'll be bitching about a leaky defense that couldn't get off the field.

Did we all forget, Todd Haley is gone! Red Zone Blues no more? Play action, & the QB sneak to be called more often.

I'll give you that and I agree. But I still say that if we had gotten ANY pressure on Bortles, or if our coaching was even sub-par, we would have won that game.

Bell, Brown, Ben, Bryant, JuJu, Boswell. We don't have a talent problem, we have the wrong guy steering the ship

Okay fine....shore up the D.....

All I ask.....

Let's go: No huddle, hurry up offense, with 2 pass catching RB's (who also block as Bell can) in the back field at all times

And............5 Wide *******!!!

I believe we need to control the ball more. Until Our coach decides on his D strategy.
