We are 6th in total defense, 6th in passing defense, 10th in rushing defense, 1st in sacks. 4th in total offense, 2nd in passing offense, 27th rushing offense, though we have the #3 running back, the #2 QB. I think if we can minimize the mistakes we are as good as any team out there. This game was a farce. Take away the fumble through the endzone, and the Conner fumble, we win this game very decisively. I expect us to bury the Bolts next week.

We're also ranked 26th in turnover differential at -7. Yes, the defense has been better but turnovers are a must when it gets into the big games and this defense just doesn't have any play makers. Offenses are very willing to take shots downfield cause they our secondary has no play making skills, they're just hoping to be in the right position for the play call.

You're wrong.
The Steelers are one Mike Tomlin and one imperfect Ben Roethlisberger day away from losing to anybody.

Tomlin cannot adjust to a poor day from the QB. If Ben isn't virtually perfect the team has little hope.

Good teams find a way to win shity teams find a way to lose!... With Tomlin and Roethlisberger I'm guessing we find a way to lose as many times as we find a way to win. Inconsistency is a scary thing! I sure as hell wouldn't bet no money on this year's team!...cuz you never know what teams going to show up on any given day...to me that's not a championship team!

I'm as hard on Tomlin as anybody, but I can't believe people are even bringing him up today.

In addition to the 4 turnovers, two of which occurred inside Denver's 5 yard line, there were a multitude of mistakes made by PLAYERS, which had nothing to do with coaching. Off the top of my head:

1) McDonald dropped another nice pass, right in his hands, for a touchdown. Yes, this error was essentially undone a few plays later by the successful fake field goal (kudos to the coaches), and I like McDonald, but drops continue to be a problem with this guy.

2) Washington jumped in the air for no apparent reason, and dropped a 40-yard pass on the Denver 20 when the game was tied at 17 in the third quarter.

3) AB didn't get two feet in on what should have been a 20+ yard completion on the Denver 30 in the fourth quarter, on the type of play we've seen him make routinely dozens of times.

Ben played well enough to beat the Broncos. He could have easily had another 500-yard passing game...and despite his receivers' problems (outlined above), he still might have had a final chance at it, if he hadn't burned those two timeouts in the third quarter himself.

No, I'm not blaming Tomlin for the loss. I'm merely pointing out that he can't engineer a win unless Roethlisberger plays well.

Take a look at the Jags game. If Ben doesn't do a full 180 in the last few minutes - they don't even sniff a victory as Fichtner and Tomlin have no solution for when Ben ISN'T playing lights out.

He won't last 3 year's after Ben leaves. He'll be entirely too exposed.

And I'm merely pointing out that in spite of two interceptions, Ben DID play well, well enough to win against the Broncos. If those 13-17 points they gave away are on the board instead of lost to fumbles and a blocked field goal, then that last drive (and resulting INT) isn't even necessary.

Ben's the guy who put them in the hole to start with against Jacksonville -- what solutions are available when your quarterback is playing one of the worst halves of his career?

Tomlin is certainly no engineer, but he's not a magician, either.

Positive stuff, but we are - 7 in turnovers, and still among the league leaders in penalty yardage surrendered. The reason we didn't beat the Brows is also sloppy play. Turnovers and penalties.

The refs seem to side against us more often than not.

Team focus and discipline are reasons why we lose. That and it would be nice if our defense can create more turnovers, especially when the game is close and the Special teams played a bit better.

Same players on the field but this looks like a different team every week. I get the same feeling sitting down to watch a game as when I pull out my driver. I know it’s a great club, I’m excited, and I know I can hit some great drives with it, but I’m never sure what will happen.

Hey...we must have the same driver and football team.

Ben doesn't have to play mistake free for us to win. I'm not sure any coach can overcome 4TOs. You, simply, cannot routinely win with 17 points.

I'm seeing a little disciplinary core issues. If the team was more disciplined you wouldn't have the unfocused **** happening,..........................
