Steelers Alejandro Villanueva: ‘I Threw My Teammates Under The Bus Unintentionally’

Sorry dude but country comes before some sports team. At least someone out of the group decided to do the right thing. He should have NEVER been put in that position in the first place. He certainly didn't have jack **** to apologize for.

No. He had his chance to say something when the team discussed it. Held it in until game time. He knew exactly what he was doing. Grandstand! Hope he get traded to the rats cause that’s what he is. Also his play fell off big time this year.

He shouldn't have to apologize. That's where I saw issue.
From the Steelers perspective, I understood they were trying to keep the focus on football only, however the backlash they got was intense.

From Alejandros perspective, nothing wrong at all with what he did. He honored his respect, not just for his country, he also served and did three tours. Completely understandable.

Now time to move on. If fans want to boycott, they can boycott. Their beliefs, their right.
If fans want to continue watching football. Watch football. Nobody is stopping them. Their right.

As a Steelers fan, I just do not feel right for the game and the future. Too much damage was done. Any apologies coming out are just to save face imo.

Sorry dude but to say one thing to your team and then do another to act all high and mighty is ****** no matter how you spin it.

You're assuming what Villanueva said is actually what happened.

Reading/hearing what he, Tomlin and Roethlisberger have said seems like classic damage control to me.

I think they've come together to try and put as pretty a face on this as possible and move on, but the damage has been done.

They ****** up by not taking the field, and are merely trying to rationalize it, as opposed to offering a sincere, direct apology for what happened.

Not true. It's common knowledge that the team was divided about their course of action, his feelings were not held back and he asked if he could stand at the end of the tunnel.

Big time and I put it all on Tomlin's shoulders.
