By Brandon J. Wallace SteelerNation.com ** Monday, the Pittsburgh Steelers reached back into the XFL player pool and added receiver, Saeed Blacknall who played for the Los Angeles Wildcats this past season. Blacknall (24), who originally played at Penn State and then signed to the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted rookie in 2018, ended up […]

I read on one site that he is 6'2 with strength and ran a sub 4.4 40. His college production was limited but with those kind of measurables at the price he is certainly worth looking at. Maybe he's just a late bloomer.

Brandon, Thanks for the write up and letting us know. I think they are trying their dangest to aquire talent due to the lack of being able to meet potential draft players / UDFA in person. They are using game XFL tape to evaluate and I commend them for their efforts. It doesn't cost much to bring them in and compete and you never know what player might stick.

I would have rather brought in Cam Phillips or Eli Rogers, but he is fast, big, strong, and probably projects to being a big slot, like JuJu. We may be moving away from the jitterbug small slots and push for more size.

Can't remember how good his hands were but I do remember him making a few nice catches for Penn State. He has good size and great speed. If he has good hands, the routes can be taught (hopefully).

Maybe that would help SwitzArmy out the door. Either way I;m excited for them bringing in a truck load to see if anyone can stick. I'm sure it's due to NO CONTACT leading up to the draft.

From what I remember of Blacknall is he’s fast and big but he definitely needed help with concentration and route running. A lot like Juwan Johnson. Had high hopes for him coming into college and never developed. To be honest that’s franklins mo he gets good recruits at WR they just don’t develop there.
