Steelers Activate Ola Adeniyi

Regardless of who is wrong and who is right, I just want OLA to splash - n - dash his way to awesomeness.

Salute the nation

Just my 2 cents but what I saw from Thomas in preseason(I watched all the games) was a physically gifted player with a good motor but he was constantly lining up wrong or being moved around by the other ILB. My guess is he is way behind where he should be from a mental aspect and may not have what he needs between the ears at this point. ILB's need to have the mental aspect to make calls and adjustments. That being said I hope he makes the PS.

I'm with Coach on Matt Thomas. Loved his potential. And they never gave him a shot. He was losing snaps everywhere, D, ST, and was inactive last week, so the writing was on the wall, but the whole reason why the Steelers kept 3 OLBs in the first place, was because Thomas could play all 4 LB positions. He will clear waivers, because the Steelers are smart on their drops, waiting till the last moment on Sat, when rosters and game plans are set, then clears waivers today, to be added to the PS tomorrow.

He may get poached off the PS, but something's up with him, either health wise, or between the ears, that the Steelers felt comfortable releasing him.

Personally, my choice to drop would have been Brian Allen. He already cleared waivers, so demoting him back to the PS should be a foregone conclusion.

Thomas reminds me of Deebo out of the gates. In the manner I think they saw something early in him, but he didn't pick up all that was required from him schematically. I could be wrong but I think that is the case with Thomas.

Dirty Red, Trash ?? WTF are you watchin' ? One of the best SP players on the field and a decent ILBer who's a step or two slower than optimal....but trash ?
Williams, second most tackles on the team and a ferocious tackler that, like Red, is a step slower than we would like in the position....but trash ?

That same adjective could be used on posters that don't quite measure up to fan standards but I doubt anyone on here would lower their own standards by doing it.

Dirty Red is a poor ILB and Williams is a stiff who is vastly overpaid. Williams can't cover and makes a lot of poor plays in the running game. Teams abuse him and of course the fact he is our second leading tackler is no shock as it is inherent in the position he plays. It would be a major upset if our ILBs were not our leading tackler despite the fact they are not good and are not impact players

We often overrate our fringe roster guys. I would assume Thomas is going to be safe on the PS. I'm really interested to see what they do with Ola. Is he going to get any snaps?

I would think on obvious pass rushing situations, or at least to give Chickillo a breather.

sure the guy has physical gifts. Theres a reason he was an ufa. He apparently wasn't on the depth chart for OLB. Because he was released and OLA promoted. OLA > Thomas.

Fu is long gone.:peace:

I would have let big Dud go, or Hunter.

I would have parted ways with Brian Allen. He did even less on special teams, and looks suspect in pre-season games

Dupree played last night, and OLA did nada. I hope we can claim Thomas back for the PS
