Very good point. Alejandro Villanueva is a hero and acted like one in the face of adversity when Tomlin decided for " team unity " over the national anthem issue. That still bothers me, a football coach should never issue an order on politics.

Disobeying a director order from your boss, to uphold his own values, even in a hard to see area such as a tunnel took guts. And it was the right thing for him to do.

Now, I may be crazy, but didn't he leave it up to the players to decide? I'm pretty sure that was the case. That doesn't come off as issuing anything but realizing he shouldn't get involved, and let his players openly hash that out amongst themselves.
