Steelers 11 million under cap

Hopefully Cortez took the renegotiated deal. Also heard they would probably rework Timmons too. Hopefully that's all it takes to get Green on the roster.

There are always doom and gloom stories about where teams are at vs the cap and they rately are as dire as stated... The steelers have contracts nuilt to be restructured as needed and the cap often jumps higher than anticipated by sportswriters

Read somewhere that essentially it is like a tax year turning over with FA turning over it becomes a new year that's part of the reason the figures changed.

This is looking pretty accurate right here:

http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/pittsburgh-steelers/cap/

That includes the new Green deal and has us at $6 million in cap space counting only the top-51 (as will be the case until September 1st)

This DOES NOT include the deal for Ramon Foster yet or apparently any restructurings.

So far this season it's Oakland and NY Giants as the free agent spenders?

Remember this is not the part of the off-season where winners/losers are made. It's the WHOLE next 2 months.

Should the NFL require teams to post their cap status on NFL.com, or do teams simply want to play a shell game, holding their cards closer to their vest?

It seems nobody knows what the true cap numbers are.

It's not the team or the league's fault. It's the fault that most reporters reporting on the cap don't understand the cap rules, or they can't count. This stuff is understandable if you take the time to learn it.

Like a month ago when the sky was falling after an idiot reporter was saying we were right up against the cap. He counted every contract. Rule of 51 had us 10M under.
