Not bad, a few comments:

1 ) It's interesting the more I see third party data agreeing that Davis is our weak link. This year he's free safety if he has to cover deep ( cover 3 ) watch out... he will be burned. Carney's agrees, he's weak, PFF agrees....and we spent our first round pick and our biggest free agent pick up at safety.

2 ) Berry is sub-par. I wish we had better, but he's the punter.

3 ) James over Burns? Not a chance!

4 ) Foster a little high. Over Villanueva and Watt? No sir!

5 ) Decastro a little high. I'd say about 6-7 for him

6 ) Pouncey at #9. I say less value than Villanueva, but okay.

1. Agree, James has no business being rated ahead of Burns. Burns isn't a completely liability and plays one of the most challenging positions on the field.

2. Foster is one of the most consistent linemen on the team and based on their play last year, Villanueva was our worst lineman.

3. Roethlisberger more than made up for his slow start to the season with the insane numbers he put up down the stretch. For that reason alone I put him above DeCastro, who I am comfortable with the No. 3 best player on the team.

4. Until we see how Burnett fits into this team, I have a hard time rating him that high, but if he lives up to that status we have ourselves an excellent defender.

Yes, I have to admit that Davis occupying the free safety slot full-time makes me nervous. I really hope coach Bradley helps him in a big way.

Not that ST players should ever be considered as 'starters' since they are on the field for maybe 10 plays a game max.

Either way, another reporter that doesn't understand angular punting, and avoiding touchbacks. With a D that has trouble stopping offenses, Barry is the best weapon at giving them a long field.

I think Foster and V should be reversed. ROTHLESBERGER is hands down the most important member on this team, he may not be ranked better but make no doubt to his importance. Joe H and Steffon T. Switch. Now for Berry some here look at average distance and get lost in that statistic. There is a HELL of a lot more involved than just kicking the **** out of the rock as distance can matter more of the time it's placement VS field VS coverage team and Berry excels in the WHOLE game play.

Salute the nation

My list using the same 24 players. Chief cretiera based on imprantace to winning. This should not be confused with who the better player is, regargless of postion, but I did consier that secondary criertia. Another way to look at it is if we had to play a season without a player, who would I give up first, second, third, ect…

No. 24 – Jordan Berry – A below average punter in many areas, he’s not terrible, but we can do better. Singed a 1 year deal
No. 23 – Tyler Matakevich – A special teams guy, he has a lot to prove as a projected starter. Too small / slow, I think
No 22 . Jessie James – Ideally a backup. I said I’d use the same players. I’d place McDonald around 15th on this list. Limited ability to adjust to make a tough catch. Not a threat after the catch either
No 21 – Sean Davis – I think he’s poor in coverage and takes too many bad angles to the ball. Could be a liability in center field. Good as a blitzer
No 20 Javon Hargrave – On the field for roughly 50% of the snaps, he’s a little weak vs the run, and just okay as a pass rusher. Our run defense needs a better pure NT.
No 19. Vince Williams – A good two down run stuffer. Range and speed is below par. Excellent blitizer.
No 18. Ramon Foster – A dependable guard, but too slow to feature. A leader in the locker room
No 17. Bud Dupree – A hot and cold player who I think lacks football IQ and doesn’t give as good as effort as others.
No 16 James Washington – This rookie is making plays and beating people deep. A high ranking, just an early feel of what we have.
No 15 Artie Burns – Burns is our best deep man player thanks to his size, speed and ball skills, however he needs to do a better job on pre and post snaps reads, and become a more reliable tackler.
No 14. Morgan Burnett – Given this spot based on his production on another team.
No 13. Chris Boswell – Perhaps our best kicker ever, if the game is on the line, he’ll deliver. Good range as well. Kicks in a tough stadium.
No 12. TJ Watt – Poised to make a leap forward in his 2nd year. Could rate better in time,
No 11 Maurkice Pouncey – We win just fine without him when he’s hurt. Two Journeyman proved that. A good player. Wear and tear might catch up to him soon. Not great as a in line run blocker. Very good on the move
No 10 Marcus Gilbert – A very under rated player when healthy. A huge run blocker, and very solid pass blocker
No 9 Stephon Tuitt – His season was hampered by injuries. When Healthy he’s a force, but can he become a consistent force
No 8 Ju-Ju Smith-Schuster – Looked like a veteran by the end of his rookie year. Top physically and hands, fast enough.
No 7 – Alejandro Villanueva – Might be the lone player capable of playing left tackle well. Hence his value. Huge run blocker. Above average pass blocker. Speedy edge rushers give him trouble.
No 6. David DeCastro – The key cog to our running game. Mobile, a technician, and very durable
No 5 – Joe Haden – Our best cover corner. Teams do not test him often.
No 4 Le’Von Bell – When healthy, clear of suspension and in shape, he’s a deluxe chain mover. Likely his last season as a Steeler. Lack of bog plays, a draw back.
No 3 – Cam Heyward – If he can do it again, wow. A very productive leader, excellent vs the pass, good vs the run.
No 2. Antonio Brown – A hall of fame player in his prime, Brown is going to make many plays. Very quick and precise with hands of glue.
No 1 – Ben Roethlisberger – Playoff hopes start and end with him. One of the best 5 QB’s in the NFL.
