Parking is now $40 /game regular season ... Of course playoff also increased ... $5

That's why I park then walk to the Stadium.

Is it true the mob owns most parking lots downtown? But I also hear Rooneys own a lot of it.

But I guess the mob is barely kicking in da burg these days.

http://www.gorillaconvict.com/2015/01/nick-blade-scott-m-burnstein-gangster-report/

I went to a part at the house of one of "the kids" house, and it was "Scarface" level in size and scope. Crazy. Double staircase, golf course in basement, an in-house bar. Just nuts.

Yep, but they are trying to keep on the low down so don't tell anyone.

Add the cost of the TICKETS / stadium food / beverages / **** no wonder the average Joe can't afford to go. NFL is pricing itself right out of the market. SOON they will have pay-per-view for $19.95 per game. Then we all will be able to afford to watch. WHAT a ******* deal !!!!!!!

I think the NFL needs to do more for the fans. The price is too high.

1 ) Tear down the nets, allows fans to get game balls the same way baseball does.

2 ) Raffle off jerseys and other stuff at halftime and the end of the game.

3 ) Allow fans to hear a few minutes of the radio calls between the home team's coaches after the game in the Stadium only on key plays for the game with the jumbotron showing the results of the plays.

4 ) Allow season ticket holders a pass to 30-minute tour the coaches press box, the locker room, and other related areas typically restricted during the off season. Limit the tours to 50 per group. Cost, FREE.

5 ) Create a free app for various alerts.

As long as they fill the stadium, you won't see any improvements. That is why the Jags were voted "best fan experience" because they had to get off their ***** and find ways to make fans want to show up.

And, they have done a good job. It's hard to make fans happy if your team sucks every year.

The theory is that big screen TVs and fantasy football is why less fans are showing. That's a nice fairy tale, but the main reason is they have priced most people out of going.

When you have to decide between roof over head, food on table and going to a game, the other two will trump the game thing.

The price of 2 tickets to the last game I went to was over $500. (I got them comped, thankfully). The owners think they are bulletproof. But as we go down this road, it's going to be increasingly difficult to find 60-70,000 people who can afford going to games each week.

$40 for parking? $10 beers? The Steelers had the highest prices per beer oz. in the country at one point (don't know if they still do). Thanks for being so greedy, Rooneys.

I do think the owners are somewhat concerned at least in private. There comes a point where the cost of the game becomes too much to fill a stadium of 70,000 people. With the rate of inflation, I think we are close to that point.

Maybe not in all areas, but for some. The suggestions I made would give the fans something new over television.

This is a reason why the NFL wants to expand the playoffs. To increase fan interest on teams that finish between 7-9 and 9-7....your team has a shot at the 7th seed!

If I had to choose between and NFL Sunday ticket for the year, or one game for a year, it's a very hard call as the costs are close to even. That's the problem.

Baseball is talking more nets for fan safety.

2 ) Raffle off jerseys and other stuff at halftime and the end of the game.

They pretty much do this with Steeler Nation Unite.

3 ) Allow fans to hear a few minutes of the radio calls between the home team's coaches after the game in the Stadium only on key plays for the game with the jumbotron showing the results of the plays.

I'd rather see periodic live coverage on RedZone during commercials.

When?

5 ) Create a free app for various alerts.

Steelers already have one of these.

Falcons to offer lowest concession prices in major team sports in 2017

Atlanta Falcons fans might encounter sticker shock when they attend their first game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium next year. That's because the team announced Monday that it will offer what will amount to the lowest concession prices at the major-sports-team level.

A bottomless soda, which will come with free and unlimited refills, will cost $2 -- the same cost as a bottle of water, popcorn and a pretzel. A slice of pizza, peanuts and fries will be $3 each, while a cheeseburger will cost $5. A chicken tenders basket will cost $6.

Making Concessions

Atlanta's new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, when it opens in 2017, will offer the lowest-priced concessions at the major sports team level:
ITEMS COST COST
Classic Hot Dog $2 Waffle Fries $3
Pizza Slice $3 Classic Cheeseburger $5
Nachos $3 Chicken Tender Basket $6
Snacks Cost Cost
Pretzel $2 Popcorn $2
Peanuts $3
Beverages Cost Cost
Regular Coca-Cola** $2 Dasani Bottled Water $2
Souvenir Coca-Cola** $4 12 oz. Bud Light $5
** Comes with free/unlimited refills
>> All prices include sales tax
"We'll be able to feed a family of four at our games for $27," said Steve Cannon, CEO of the AMB Group, the family of businesses owned by Arthur Blank that includes the Falcons, Atlanta United and the new stadium that will open in 2017. "That's 60 to 70 percent cheaper than our competitors."

Cannon said the team had a discussion as to how low it could go on the beer, so as not to hurt the fan experience, and arrived at $5 for a 12 ounce cup of a product such as Bud Light.

"In any fan survey, food and beverage is one of the most important drivers of fan experience and the one that is the most broken," Cannon said. "It's either lack of quality, lousy delivery or bloodcurdling pricing."

Cannon said the pricing was arrived at by studying the greater Atlanta marketplace and, at the very least, matching the prices that fans would pay in the area in everyday life.

The Falcons hope to make up some of the money lost on typical margins by doing volume. There will be 670 concession points in the new stadium, which is 65 percent more availability than the team has in the Georgia Dome. Soda refill stations will be separate from lines for those ordering for the first time. Prices, including tax, are right on the dollar, meaning there's no change to be made, thus speeding up the transaction time.

The prices also could serve as an incentive for fans to buy tickets. While Cannon said the concession prices aren't to achieve a greater goal, the Falcons have had a harder time selling seats in the upper bowl for its new stadium. The most expensive seats, $45,000 PSLs on the 50-yard line, are sold out.

Unlike most teams, selling concession rights in exchange for guaranteed cash, Blank -- who had often talked about making concession prices match those offered to patrons at Augusta National for the Masters -- didn't make that deal. Instead, his company forged an operator relationship with Levy Restaurants that comes with a flat management fee. That allowed the team creativity to make the drastic change.

Cannon said the stadium will have premium food items as well, as deals are currently being negotiated with Atlanta's top chefs and restaurateurs. He said that those prices also will match what the items cost in the outside world without additional markup.

The prices will be the same for concerts and other events in the stadium, including the 2018 College Football Playoff Title Game and the 2020 Final Four.

Wtf Pop, the Jaguars can't fill that stadium unless the tarp half of it.

The Steelers do some of those things ..

-- Players do hand balls to fans -- at their expense .
-- get to the game early and get a scratch off you can go onto the sidelines during warm-ups
- SteelerNationUnite gives away a lot of gifts during the games . --
-- 50/50 raffle -- some of the totals have reached $100,000+
-- there are several apps out there ..

NFL Ticket vs. one game live? Not even a close decision for me. I go NFL Ticket all day. Now, if I lived in the Steeler TV market? That is different. But living in FL, the NFLT ensures I get every Steeler game.

And a big screen TV with 1080 HD does make a difference as well. Having that set up, with every single game at your fingertips, to me, is better than going to a game. Plus, I hate crowds and traffic and the unwashed masses.

All that said, if the Steelers show up in J-VIlle, I go. It's almost 50% Steeler fans, so it's like a home game, but without the cold, rain and snow. And the scenery at Jag stadium, and surrounding areas, ain't hard on the eyes, if you know what I mean.

That assertion if full of ignorance.

1.) The stadium was built larger than most, due to the FU-GA game each year and to get a Super Bowl, which they did.
2.) Jax is one of the smallest towns to have an NFL city. The population is radically inflated due to insanely large city limits, areas that are no where near downtown are counted as in the city limits.
3.) The Jags - a losing team forever - avg. 61,463 fans a game last year, compared to Pgh - a contender with more rings than any team and in a town where football is considered life, avg. 64,356. So, all those things considered, Pgh only avg. 3,000 more fans a game. If the Jags ever achieve contention again, they will blow away fan attendance of the Steelers. With all that losing and such bad teams, they are only 3k behind them as it is.

So, before you blow mess at the Jags for attendance, get informed. What do you think attendance of the Steeler games would be if we had a team as bad as the Jags?

I lived in West PA during some bad seasons (none came close to being as bad as Jags 3 win seasons) and you couldn't give tickets away; no one wanted them. Oh, the tickets will be "sold out" but that doesn't paint the whole picture. Thousands of those tickets are bought by scalpers.

Jags should never have been awarded an NFL franchise. That year Baltimore was the better choice, but politics won out to this college town. They built the 80+k stadium thinking they could fill it each and every week, and did a fine job when they were competitive. When they weren't competitive they had to tarp sections to avoid blackouts, which they had a ton of, and those tarps are the only reason they avoid blackouts.

People don't go to stadiums to go swimming or watch unattainable tail. They go to watch a competitive football game. Jags hadn't done that recently, but they could turn it around. I don't know what's so great about that stadium since they're more than willing to throw away a home game each year to play in England.

Also FYI, a Scalper's tickets have already been sold once...

I specifically addressed every single assertion and you merely ignored each point. I won't repeat myself. But I will copy and paste hoping you actually comprehend the totally valid points.

Oh, this coming from YOU? The guy who constantly uses ad hominem attacks, more than ANYONE on this board? Some day, think about stop being a hypocrite and you would be taken more seriously.

And read what I ******* actually wrote. Less name calling in that post than just about any you ever make towards me. This is beyond the pot calling the kettle black. You levy personal insults on a daily basis, but NOW are telling
others to not offer insults, while there isn't an ad hominem attack to even be found while you CONSTANTLY go out of your way to the one dealing them out.

And stating that assertions are full of ignorance, when true, is not even an ad hominem attack. It is a statement of fact. I said the assertions were full of ignorance; I never called Cope any names, as you do daily in here,

So take your hypocrite self and make an appointment for the psychiatrist.

But you on the other hand go out of your way to be a ******** to posters a plenty.

And you can enlargen whatever you like, but it doesn't make my words less true.

So you are comfortable living life as a hypocrite? Way to go. It saddens me when I see people with weak character.
