I watched Bowser's tape vs. Memphis and was not impressed. I did not see him beat an offensive tackle, either side, the entire game.

watch his game tape against Louisville. As long as you watch some tape, I don't have an issue with disparaging thoughts....

before the combine I posted he was likely a third round pick. He tested out very well though and likely will go earlier. He does need some development. playing both football and basketball his first two seasons limited his growth on the football field. He needs better footwork at the point of attack and to develop more moves to beat the OT......
 
I compare Bowser a lot to the hype about Haasan Riddick. They are similar players. Very athletic. As much runner/hitter linebackers as they are traditional "edge" defenders. Very good in space and coverage and can turn their back to the line of scrimmage if needed.

A similar pro to me is Jamie Collins. Collins gets described as an OLB, has the size of an edge OLB (6'4", 250#), but the guy is not a sack guy. He has 12.5 career sacks in 49 starts. But people LOVE Jamie Collins' game. Hell, he's getting a huge deal from Cleveland and that can't be just about sacks.

I think you have to expect a similar type player out of Bowser and Reddick. A "joker" and athletic piece to a good defense rather than a traditional edge defender that just battles a LT for 60 snaps a game.
 
Bowser was also put in the position and asked to do alot of things that kept him from really showcasing his pass rush ability, much like Dupree coming out except I'd say Bowser was given even more roles to do the Bud. On his tape, especially against spread option teams, you'll see him come off the ball and stop rushing but rather having to read the play and react. Really seemed like he was often not being schemed to rush the passer

he did do a lot of other things...he still has a lot to learn but what better guy to learn from than Harrison....he was at the top or near the top in all the drills he ran at the combine. the guy is cut and and should be able to add a few pounds if needed. His being out a month is what killed the Cougars season.

I figured, it speaks to his overall athleticism when they expect him to do what three different positions usually cover
