What is your plan for manning? I've heard media guys suggest we play press and don't blitz and force him to attempt throws outside or deeper downfield.
I've heard other media guys say we should come after him all day long.

Go after him. Our DBs aren't good enough to hold coverage on DT and Sanders waiting for Peyton to screw up

Manning has been historically rattled by 3 things:
1) Cold weather
2) Playoff games
3) Pressure

We will def. have #2 in our favor. We will have #1 in our favor for most of the game, I believe. We need to create #3

pressure him all day....give him time and he will pick the secondary apart (if he has any arm strength at all)

Yeah, gotta pressure him. Give him the happy feet.

You have to put pressure on him. That has always been his weakness. Hit him early and often, especially if Osweiler is injured or out.

That was the strategy for not blitzing him, seeing if he has any arm strength to make the tough throws. A few have said he'll read the blitz, change the play and burn us, but we've got to hit him and get him moving often.

I like what we did in 2005, show a blitz, hold it right until they snapped the ball, then change where the blitz is coming from.

Also, take the looks you use most often and throw a wrinkle in them. he will know everything we have done lately on D... show him a formation we usually blitz out of or drop deep on, then jump the short stuff instead. Peyton out-thinks himself in these situations... if he has time he will make reads as the play unfolds... if he thinks we are coming from him, then his brain goes all default supercomputer and that can be easily tricked

Kirk him!

Oz was limited in practice today. He is questionable, though he will probably dress as a backup. Either way, it's a knee that is not fully repaired. I don't fear him to be mobile at all, so the game plan, to collapse the pocket, is on for both QBs!!

Pressure, pressure, and more pressure. Safety and corner blitzes timed in with a big performance from the DL.

No doubt but to make Manning jittery and even hurt his planta fascia again would put Osweiler or their third string QB in the game. Hit Manning and make him run around and make him do it early and often.

The key is to Disguise, Disguise, Disguise. Make him read blitz when it isn't coming and vice versa. Lebeau had his number when it came to this and I expect no less from Butler. If the guys on the field are able to sell it appropriately we will kill them.

The 2005 game is a prime example. Making quick throws when we were dropped back and we destroyed their receivers at or near the line........Taking that 7 step drop when Porter came in on a cross blitz and absolutely destroyed him.

Manning is the absolute master of destroying sub-par defenses. With us and the *Pats, he overthinks and screws the pooch. We might not have the superior personnel we've had in the past, but believe me......We are in his head
