I know it's a bit premature and I hope we are discussing this after a SB win, but of course mock drafts are coming out already and I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on where the Steelers should go next?
I tend to think we need to start thinking about life after Cam and TA. So DLine I think should be a priority as well as OLine. I know we have some good young talent there but Pounce ain't getting any younger and we really need to develop some quality depth up there. My thought is we really need get back to running the FB if Ben is gonna stick around a couple more years.
As far as players go one guy I would love to see the Steelers look at is the C from Iowa...Tyler Linderbaum. If you know anything about Iowa FB they excel at putting offensive linemen in the pros. Linderbaum is a nasty blocker with a mean streak and he is going to be a very good C at the next level. Let's hear what you got boys......fire away

I hope they go inside backer. It really hurt this defenses speed when Bush went down. I don’t know who but a fast inside backer.

Cooch will be along soon to tell you who we should draft based on his 3-second film watching while getting a drink at the bar

Draft talk is always fair game in my book.

1. Offensive Line
This one is broad because the Steelers could use talent at any of the positions. Tackle would be my top priority with Villanueva potentially leaving as an UFA and/or the chance to upgrade the right side. It's about time to find a future center and you can probably get a good one in the second or third round. Guard is lowest on the list with Dotson potentially being a good starter as early as next year.

2. Cornerback
Sutton and Hilton are both free agents after this season with Haden and Nelson hitting the market in 2022. I'm still not sure what we have in Layne. This team could use a future No. 1 to take over for Haden. By the way, outside of maybe James Farrior, have the Steelers added a top quality player from another organization who fit in so well? This is just Haden's fourth season with the team and it feels like he's been a Steeler his entire career.

3. Defensive Line
The Steelers rotate their defensive linemen too much to not stockpile talent.

I'm all-in on offensive line in the first, but if one of the top two tight ends or if a quarterback slips I'll be tempted.

An Edge will be an option as well with Bud leaving in FA.

With the Steelers having so many free agents, they could end up being forced to target a certain position. If they do a good job with retention and free agency I'd love to get the Penn State TE in RD1.

Maybe has been here the whole time.

:th_balls:

A lot will be contingent on who leaves in free agency.

OLB ) If Bud leaves.

I have a feeling Conner and Juju will be back call it a gut instinct.

After seeing who leaves you want to solidify depth.

Backup C can be upgraded . I would be ok with a T being drafted too.

Perhaps another ILBer as well.

wait. he went to the bar and didn't offer to bring back a beer for anyone? uncool bro. uncool. Now I hafta put on shoes and get my own beer. Imma be grumpy for a bit.

When you are drafting at the tail end of the draft, or 32nd overall its best to match value with need. No reaching.

You should be able to get the 1st or 2nd best RB or Center, and both are needs.

At Running back Etienne is there. So is Harris. I have seen both play in a few games, either is better than what we have and would be in instant upgrade.

At Center there is Meyers or Humphrey. On Humphery he registered 93 knockdowns and did not allow a sack in 799 snaps last year.

Still too early, and they need to work out. Not focusing on the draft right now.

Aw comeon! I'm good for at least 30 seconds of film. As for the bar a Long Island iced tea please.

No not even that. Better you keep your day job.

I think he will shoot up the draft board and not be around when we draft, but if Trask is there you take him. I love Ben, but any potential franchise qb is a no brainer at this point... you are taking about a qb pushing 40 with a metric ton of miles on him and a surgically repaired arm... if you got him you could easily trade Rudolph for a Late to mid round pick...
if he isn’t there, i think you target a interior lineman or OLB... possibly a cb but honestly i think we are ok there for the time being....

What we shouldn’t need Really high :
Te, S, ILB, WR DL
These would all be luxury picks
I don’t ever believe in taking RB in round 1 or and special teamer above round 6

If you don’t believe Rudolph is the long term answer at QB, then that becomes a need pick... you always need a good 2qb and the Steelers wont have cap to bring in a vet

I think we seriously need to address Pouncey’s replacement

Even if highsmith is the real deal we need depth at OLB with dupree leaving

We will be losing one of the ufa cb’s and haden is getting older, so we can absolutely go in that direction

The thing about Drafting a cb high is our track record is abysmal of late... and even the ones that worked out took a while to develop and we immediately lost ( or look Likely to lose) them...

I think the Steelers lean against it but they would still go BPA if one is clearly the best choice unless they trade out of the spot.

I would rather they bring in an experienced corner that seems to work best for them.

Layne might change that way of thinking as early as Monday 5pm.

Priority is both lines and then positions of need based on players leaving from this year.

That won't be their approach. Players will be resigned or leave and then be replaced in free agency if they see an upgrade from what is on the roster.

Then they will take depth and starting needs and go with a BPA based on that.

So it could very well be they look at C,T,WR,RB,OLB,CB, and DE with pick 1.

They will not pick a weaker position just because they feel they need a body there.

what a ***** choice of a drink...

actually a LIT made the right way has more alcohal than most drinks. top shelf goose,grandma,151,patron, sapphire, coke, citrus mix drink a few and you feel good

I'll just take my glass of whiskey and be happy

not saying a LIT won't get you drunk, to me it has always been a drink for those who don't want to taste the booze
