Bell is looking like a complete ***-hat with the information coming out that the Steelers offered a $10 million signing bonus PLUS a $10 million roster bonus up front.

He could have made somewhere in the zone of $30+ million dollars THIS year alone.

And he said no.

And then he refused to come to camp.

And THEN he held out.

I think he needs to use Martavis' girlfriend as a manager. Even SHE gives better advice.

IF true then he’s getting bad advice from people. I could be wrong but I think people are in his head.

They have him convinced he is a talented rapper. Trust me Bell is a idiot, it would take little for bad advice to camp out in that hat rack.

Well, theoretically, he was getting half that guaranteed withOUT a contract. Over a 2 year period, this year's tag dollars and next year's guaranteed money would be significantly more than that and the 2nd yewr of the contract.

Why would he sign a contract that pays him less than what he is sure he could get next year plus this year's tag? I doubt anyone here would and we dont have as physically demanding jobs. The amount makes nonsense to us because it is so far out of our comprehension. Well, except for Heinz and AlleDong.

All completely logical regardless of all the sand in the vaginas around here.

Of course that whole argument goes out the window when he doesn't show up for games and get those actual checks AND show he deserves that next contract. THAT is thenshit advice he is getting.

Ya know, as chubby as he looked in the jet ski video, I’m wondering if he’s been smoking quite a bit of weed and is still smoking since he isn’t subject to a drug test right now since he isn’t under contract.

Bye week gives him enough time to get in shape and detox.

Nell has never been very bright and he has an idiot for an agent, **** him.

I think I remember reading about this in a different thread, that he is in the NFL program and still can be tested.

His agent must have him convinced he's the greatest rb ever. Better than Jim Brown,Walter Payton and Barry Sanders. Only problem is Bell can't unrun anyone and is easily chased down from behind. Great in the open field for a chunk, good for those 5 yard dump off passes as well.

It will be nice to see this 2 year distraction come to its conclusion preferably sooner than later. He certainly does himself no service in promoting himself to other teams looking to buy. I'm not a fan of the mercenary buisness at all.

"The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly made a significant last-ditch effort to sign Le'Veon Bell to a long-term contract before their negotiating window closed in July.

According to Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, the Steelers' offer to Bell included $47 million over three years with a $10 million roster bonus that would have been paid out soon after signing the deal.

After placing the franchise tag on Bell in March, the Steelers continued to negotiate with their All-Pro running back to satisfy his desire for a multi-year contract.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported in July that Pittsburgh made an offer to Bell worth up to $70 million over five years and included more than $30 million over the first two years."

Apparently it was 20 mil guaranteed. 47 mil over three years is almost 16mil / yr. Not sure how any one can be on Bell's side of things here.

More than this, I don't know how anyone could say the Steelers didn't make a very strong effort to sign Bell to a market-setting contract for a running back.

You see SteelerFan, that's the thing. Most talking heads and azzhat bell supporters seem to forget this fact. The STEELERS offered a VERY fair, set the market value of RBs, contract. BELL would have made extreamly good money and a five year contract. Two years GAURANTEED and a team with a history of having their stars play out their contracts and in return they get a pretty good running back but with a history of injury / drug SUSPENTION / heavy load / 1-fail away. I see the STEELERS as doing way more than what BELL deserved but more importantly will get, weather money or winning team.

AGAIN as said before I can't wait for this 2 year cancer to be settled then onto the 12 year debical cancer of a coach.

Salute the nation

when this ****** returns, if we don't immediately trade him, what is his value to the team?

We saw what Conner can do yesterday. Albeit, the Falcons Defense isn't very good. Would Bell have put up better numbers? Not the vintage version of Bell, but today's Belly who's sat out so far, rode jet skis, partied in Miami and bloated up. Even then, would the vintage version of Bell made life that much easier for the Steeler offense?

We all know Bell was never going to win a foot race. He never had that top-end sprinter speed. He was quick and shifty, patient behind his OL and didn't take big hits from the DL. The version we'll see when he comes back will not be what we're akin to seeing. He has a playbook to learn, an OL that has gelled with Conner and an offense that has somewhat started to morph away from depending on Bell. Hell, even when Ben was down, Bell was not the guy who could will a team to victory.

If we keep Bell and he returns to Bell of last year, then I'm all for it. But, I see how the team in general is supporting Conner and how we're starting to come together. I'm all for trading Bell and keeping the locker room chemistry going that we started yesterday. As some here would say, the season is a wash. Why bring Bell back to just make things worse if that's the case?

**** MeVeon Belly.

$20 Million guaranteed money.

Put that into municipal bonds at 4% return and collect $67k per month the rest of your life without ever touching the initial $20M. (I know, taxes and entourage get their cut).

Before any financial advisors out there torch me for what an ultra-conservative bad idea that is, I'm just showing what his floor COULD have been.

These guys have a chance to live lives the rest of us can only dream of - and it still isn't good enough for some.

What an entitled dumba$$ he is. One bad urine test, or ACL, away from having nothing left.

**** MeVeon Belly.

Regulate Bell to second string. Work him into football shape. Split the carries at 70/30 or some ratio but I wouldnt ever start Bell. Next off season you throw the transition tag on him and fight for the actually salary he made this season. If the Steelers dont throw this tag on him it will be one of the biggest blunders by a front office that ever happened. You can't let Bell **** you over like he did/has/is. With the CBA the way it os Bell is able to hold out. Fine but throw the trans tag on his as next off season. Our compensation will be better than a 3rd round comp pick.

With the transition tag doesn't that include the top salaries (aka qbs) in the mix. we would be paying him an astronomical amount. It would screw the team over just to prove a point

Last year, didn’t Bells agent tell the Steelers they agreed to a long term offer and then Bell backed-out?

I don’t know that Bell is getting bad advice as much as he is disregarding good advice. His agent may be at his wits end and is just hanging on for his 10%.

I suspect Bell thinks he will someday be idolized for being principaled and sticking to his guns. It’s more about ego than money.

IMO, you trade Bell asap. Next season, he'll be two years from the RB dropoff point. I'd not want to be tied to him after he hits 30 and has a stark angle for lesser production.

Stan Savarin went over this in post game show. The steelers can transition tag him. Since bell sat out so many games, his transition tag is / will be based off of his pay THIS YEAR. And I think its 120%. So its more affordable than it would have been. The steelers also would be able to match offers of other teams.

but its still ridiculous and he don't think the rooneys will want to go thru that again.

He wants Mack or Gurley money. Good luck with that

I think he's a me-first team 15th type of guy who thinks he worth a lot more than he is.

Bell says he's reporting on the bye week. Once he signs the tender, the Steelers should have trade offers for him to review.

The Steelers say they want a 2nd round pick. I'd settle for anything better than the projected compensatory pick. I'm also okay pulling the offer if he won't accept the trade, provided we get the compensatory pick next year, which was floated by Pro Football Talk.

I'd rather keep Conner of less than a million a year and share shift what it would take to re-sign Bell to go after top NFL free agents for the defense.

Some fans think Bell can report and everything will be good. BS. The Offensive line pretty much outcast him on social media, plus somehow I doubt he's in football shape.

With how he has acted I am not sure you are sending the right message keeping him.

And by acted I am meaning turning down a very attractive contract then acting like the Steelers dissed him in the process.

Then throwing out questionable tweets. Like it or not your actions off the field with social media can effect team chemistry.

So are we going to reward you for being a asshat, and welcome you back like your actions didn't influence the team to some degree?

Not to mention you have shown you are a hard sign, So the need to get value is present.

So yeah you definitely try to trade him, and if not successful? You tag him with the non exclusive to get something for him.

Because in the end this is what's best for business.

And what is best for business is for Bell take his clown-show somewhere else.

That would be one less asshat to worry about.

Yes the agent thought it was a good deal, and Bell backed out.
