Sad as it is we should be looking to draft ILB with one of first two picks. As much as it pains everyone to even suggest we look for Ryan’s replacement it is a fact of life that must be dealt with. First let me begin saying that I pray to God he will be able to resume a normal life and walk. Second, forget football Ryan, it’s just not worth it with the risk far greater than the financial gain.
The team will have to move forward with drafting a starting ILB since that player is not currently on the active roster. I think it has to be the first pick. Dirty Red is not the answer, nor is Spence or Fort. Have to be looking early most likely first round.

Would love to see the Steelers do the right thing and keep Ryan in the fold once he can becomes mobile again. Maybe as an assistant coach, or player personnel, scout, but keep him a Steeler for life.

I hate to even say it, but I was looking at ILB prospects a couple days ago. There is no player that I'm aware of that is even near Ryan's level of athleticism. He is a very special player that would be very difficult to replace.

The only guy that sticks out is Roquan Smith.

We are not going to find a Ryan Shazier talent picking 28-32 in round one.

But we could find a very nice safety.

Any decent FA ILBers available this offseason?

Drafting an oversized Safety might be a great idea. One of those 6'3" 220 guys like Terrell Edmunds or Ronnie Harrison.

I think we go QB or RB.

If Ben retires, then QB - if Bell says he'll sit out a year, then RB

If both happen, then move over Cleveland we're heading for the cellar, we won't need to worry about an ILB

I always liked Garvin. Pretty athletic guy. Not sure about his coverage abilities.

what about Sean Witherspoon of Atlanta? Could he fill the role of what's been asked of Shazier these last couple seasons?

If they are going to pick another QB, it would have to be a first rounder. Why pick later when they just grabbed Dobbs. Can't see them cutting Dobbs and I can't see them going with Dobbs and a rookie QB behind Ben. Of course, this is assuming Ben plays next year.

Come on Spike....you know that Jones is just as good as ...er ..well, just as good as gold. He can step right in there and take charge and...take charge and.....he'll be fine.
