So Al, what was the difference between the James catch and Ramesy's catch?.......the

Im not sure people are wanting the Titans as much as they wanted the correct call. You cant have it both ways. If I had a choice Id be hosting Tenn and Jax going to NE.

WTF????Jags played the Bills, not the Titans

and the refs didnt cost the Bills the game, their blockhead coach did that when he didnt run the ball on 1st and goal from the one...idiot

They could still be playing if Buffalo scored that TD

To bring up officiating I wanted to ask this.....

I thought The Bills got jobbed when their receiver caught a ball on the sideline, and then Jax challenged saying the the WR went out of bounds.

I was unaware you could challenge the lack of a penalty being called. If that is the case, shouldn't pi be challengeable.

Don't get it.

I also noticed a severe drop off in pi calls this week, I bet they start throwing them in New England.

Actually, N.E. is infamous for being very "handsy" with wide receivers. It helps them a ton if the refs keep the flags in their pockets.

The best part of this game was watching Cowher break that table in half with his elbows

I was wondering this too. It is a penalty to come back in and touch the ball. The receiver was in bounds when he actually caught the ball. I am not sure how they can challenge him going oob before the catch since the refs missed it.

As for ramseys "catch" i do not think it was a catch, but i also do not think James was a catch either. The front of the ball hit the ground on James 's and looking at the pics it looks like most of the ball hit the ground on Ramsey's.

With all that's gone on this year, I don't see how deciding what is a catch won't be discussed in the off season.
If it's obvious to the fans, it has to be to the league, right?

Two feet on the ground, a football move = catch.

To actually know what a catch is would also mean WAY less reviews which in turn means more correct calls which in terms also means games called fairly and and less chance of manipulation which in turn would down turn money out put which would make "BIG MONEY" not liking it so much.................Get It?

Salute the nation

I agree. It's fixed

I also thought the JAX TD was questionable. Looked like he tapped the toes then ball wobbled in his hands.

Yeah I was just about to mention this. Look at the replay, the Jags receiver wobbled then recaught the ball with 1 foot out of bounds. The Bills got ****** in that game by the refs.

And against the Bills Unca Al was SO meticulous regarding the Kelvin Benjamin bobble non-catch. But in THIS game...

The NFL is screwing themselves and they are too stupid to realize that. Keep making the games harder to watch and screwing teams out of victories, fans will continue to bolt. When a challenge takes more than 2 minutes to review, then the play should stand. Funny, this conversation is re-visited week after week after week.

Definitely...ball was moving as he went out of bounds.

It's a little different now, to fans, with all these high profile games seemingly being decided by some guy in a dark room in NYC.

I've had conversations with people I didn't even know watched football. They all mention how the nfl is really shady and how they don't understand the game anymore because of "what is a catch".

Now, they've already angered the hardcore fans...now, they are pushing away even the casuals.

The only problem I have on reviewing plays from NYC is they are reviewing the play as they see it.

If the review officials were on site at each game, they would know the call on the field and review it accordingly, only overturning it with irrefutable evidence.

Ever notice that the "inconclusive" word is never used anymore. I think that the reviewers should watch all of the plays in the same speed as real time. They should not be able to CBS-it and slow down and go frame by frame and zoom in to make a determination. Take your 60 seconds, look at all angles full speed and if you can't CONCLUSIVELY see a change in the play then it remains the same as called on the field. This zooming and slowing down bullshit allows for too much of an agenda.

I don't get how refs are made to look at replays in real-time but Al Riveron is like Stanley ******* Kubrick up there with a magnifying glass and a 1000 fps monitor.

It is a combination of ranking and agenda. HE has the power to, and the influence to.

even bad publicity is good publicity... and the NFL believes that whole-heartedly.

Peterson's int was only thrown because the DB slammed into the receiver just before the ball arrived... But no... Al Riveron didn't see it that way. Al got some good work in today.

If it happens in the process of making a play on the ball, a defender can contact the receiver, and vice-versa.

There's more conclusive evidence the ball Ramsey "caught" hit the ground than there was on the James play

Yep, there was one view that clearly showed the ball hit the ground, unlike the replay reviews that the officials saw of the James' touchdown reception. Like James' catch, I would have let both stand as called on the field, but since they didn't with James, it makes no sense that they allowed this interception to stand. More importantly, why is the NFL even reviewing calls that are not clearly WRONG calls on the field. Replay is suppose to be the obviously wrong calls that everyone could see in live action and start screaming at the TV.

Also, great point to those that brought up the Jags' touchdown that was being bobbled before possession was established. Based on their ridiculous rules, should have been an incomplete pass. Again, I think it was a touchdown, but be consistent with the calls.
