Stryker and Lambert discuss the heartbreaking loss at Mile High Stadium, get into the matchups against the bolts, and argue whether Xavier Grimble and James Washington should be benched.

Grimble - Yes. Why was he in there anyway when we have Jesse and Vance. Grimble is depth.

Washington - NO. I would reduce his role (in favor of Switzer or an extra TE) until he proves himself, but no, I would NOT bench him. This kid is going to be good and I would not hinder his progress in favor of who (Hunter?). No way.

Grimble no one mistake, I don't go to a extreme and bench him. Washington I still play him but not out of the gates. He can be sprinkled in depending on how each game unfolds.

Grimble's thought processed backfired. He should learned from his mistake, plus he may sit anyway with a concussion.

James Wash, I don't know what better option they have right now.

Unless there is some specific match up reason you want a different person in there, I see no reason to bench Grimble.

I don't think Hunter or anyone else on the roster offers anything over Washington. Hunter would be the closest one, I suppose.

This podcast is very conversational. We're moving this way. Sorry about the levels. I have a new board so we can start doing a 3rd person. That was my first show with it, so I'll improve next week!

It's a little late in the season to be benching players who **** up. Not sure who we would put on the field this week if that was the new rule.

Benching players who cost the team opportunities is counter productive IMHO. That said players capabilities and talent assessments are typically done during training time no? So who is making the decisions to utilize the players in any given situation? Grimble admitted he made a terrible mistake not sidestepping the defender opting to "plow through him". Washington left his feet when he could have simply "run through the route" for a catch. In both cases these were potential TD's worth 12 points and possibly change the dynamics and momentum of the game! In both from where I sit, they appear to be sloppy attempts to make a highlight reel.

Cope, don't ever apologize, You're doing great.!!!! Thanks for all the work.

No & NO, don't bench either as we need to see Washington's respom\nse and Grimble is depth. Washington was hit up hard on the dive / run through NOT just by other players (BEN ect.) and the coaches. Let's see how he responds to that. I bet he picks up his play.

Salute the nation

I think Washington will be OK, all the passes to him have not been all that accurate and he is in a huge learning curve. I agree with Blitz, get him involved little by little with some basic stuff instead of trying to always go for the splash plays.

Washington, yes please bench his ***

Grimble, we need him as a 3rd TE. Not sure who is behind him on the depth chart. Grimble's dumbassery can be corrected.

Washington should be phased out this season. He's had too many chances. 25 passing targets to be exact and has netted what. 77 yards. That's it. Unless Hunter is hurt, he should not be playing. If Rogers is ready give him a hat over Washington too.

Grimble I'd leave alone. He has produced in the past when called upon.

Williams and Bostic should be benched in passing downs. Give Fort and Thomas more of a role when its an obvious pass. They cover better.

Hunter has 10 targets for 21 yards. Last year he had 9 targets and 23 yards receiving. in his 6th season. Even I think Hunter has more upside that the last 2 years' stats, but he does not have the potential that Washington has IMO and even Hunter played better, I don't think he offers much, if anything, over Washington.
