While, we’re not technically eliminated, I think we can all look at this season as ending soon and try to see some upside.

My take is that it first has given us insight into where we need help in order to make a final push at the end of Ben’s career. We need a #1 receiver and a first-option power back in free agency. period. This defense if healthy is Super-Bowl worthy with an offense that can put up 21 or more a game.

The second positive of this season is that because of the injury to Davis, we picked up a player in Minkah that not only immediately elevated this defense but will do so for years to come as someone who could be a perennial All-Pro.

Finally; I think we were able to see that Mason Rudolph is almost certainly not what they were hoping for when drafted and our next franchise QB is not on the team yet.

Being at the game yesterday was painful in the end, so today I needed to find some hope for the future...

Rudolph made some pretty nice throws yesterday

You don't have to be "done" with Rudolph but a vet would help stabilize the position. There is no reason you can't have BigBen, Mason, and a veteran QB.

yeah,, im not done with Rudolph.

Me either. I agree with those stating that we need a QB coach to try to develop whoever we have in line though. It could make the difference between getting the most out of what we have and floundering whilst flip flopping between our options.

A No.1 receiver isn't possible in free agency unless AJ Green comes cheap or the Steelers and AB make up.

This defense is potentially going to take a big hit if/when they lose Dupree. I know a segment of this board doesn't like Dupree, but they aren't replacing those 10.5 sacks with Ola and Chickillo and they aren't going to find a replacement in UFA either.

There is one silver lining in the season. The trade value on Fitzpatrick was well worth it. That is it. Getting almost there and Tomlin's supposed great coaching is a black cloud.

I see the odds of Dupree being elsewhere slim to none. He will be tagged or and signed to a new contract.
