Signing Le’Veon is the Only Option

Actually, no it does not make sense at all - if Barkley is such a great option compared to Bell, why would any team trade the opportunity to draft Barkley for Bell?

Especially giving up which would probably be a extra 1 in the process.

Short answer

they wouldn't.

I will say this. The Raiders option has legs. They're moving to Vegas and they need big names to fill the seats. They dropped 100M on a ******* coach. They are dumb enough to actively pursue Bell, and have shown in the past that this organization is not afraid of blowing 2 first rounders for a player (Carson Palmer).

We can only hope this comes to fruition. I think the front office is headed "Joseph flucco" type direction and that won't help anything. CAP hell and needing to sign significant players but NO Mulla $$$$$

Salute the nation

They will also pay his because they are stupid enough to give him 18m a year. Bell, regardless about what he says... he’s all about the money and the game. What better place then Vegas

LOL...I'm sorry but the image of a big time rap star cum football player extraordinaire like Bell stayin' on the straight and narrow under all them lights and glitter makes me chuckle.

pay him.
Deva yes.
idiot yes,
Best back in the league - yes.

If it happens. I'll be fine with that.
I think he reaches something with the Steelers though

Any team can get Bell WITHOUT giving up 2 1st rounders. All they have to do is work with the Steelers AND Bell.

Steelers: LB, we are going to give you a chance to shop your worth, by tagging you non-exclusive. Feel free to go find a team that wants to pay what you want. Have them put together a trade package for you services. We want you to stay here in the 'burgh, but we are not going to over pay you.

Bell: I will see what I can do, but I wants my money.

ANY team can put something together that the Steelers can agree to. The only way they are REQUIRED to give up 2 1st rounders is if they go after Bell WITHOUT working with the Steelers.

After watching both Super Bowl participants rely on running back by scrap heap committee, has anyone reconsidered whether or not the Steelers need to make a huge investment in LeVeon Bell?

We need all the offensive weapons we can get, so yes, pay him. Better him than wasting draft picks or any money on defense

He’s a great player and deserves to be paid. But if he wants more than the 12 they offered last season I’d non-exclusive franchise tag him and hope a team signs him or see if we can workout a trade. If not run the wheels off and use a draft pick on a RB. I’d love to trade Bell and get Barkley but if that can’t happen get a Sony Michael round 2 or Ito Smith round 3. Couple those two with Connor in 2019 and we’d have a nice dual threat in the backfield.

No we don't. Bell gets franchised again this coming season and he can either play or go the **** home and watch The Young And The Restless. We have the best WR corps in the league and Connor will be coming back.
Now if somebody wants to make a GOOD trade offer, then I'd listen.

Not just the Super Bowl, Minnesota lost it's starting RB during the season, and Jax has a couple they use as well Fournette, Ivory, and the guy from Bama who I can't think of for some reason.

Maybe because they have to use all three. Leveon does it all.

bad part, like last year, if he goes down, they are screwed. If Ajayi or Blount goes down, you still have the other power back, plus they have Clement and Sproles(even though he was hurt).

Talent isnt cheap
And we severely lack talent on the D side of the ball. I think all the playoff teams besides us use multiple rbs at a price of no where near 14+million.
The Rams have Gurley but on his rookie contract

I agree he does all 3 very well, but those teams don't have 14+million tied up in the RB position

So if we don't tie up $14M in one position, which players are you bringing in to fill holes at other positions, including at RB?

Don't think it works that way

I don't think you replace Bell with one guy.You bring in a free agent and draft another guy.

But on the tail end of Ben's career I don't want that talent altered.

A solid GM like Colbert should be able to sign Bell and a ILBer, and a FS.

I'd have to look at FAs at each position, but our LBs all suck besides Watt, Mitchell is bad.
KC, Minn, Jax all playoff teams with rookie rbs, Eagles 3rd down guy Clements(spelling) was undrafted, it seems easier now more than ever to find talent at the RB position.

Take the money out of it, I'd definitely want Bell at RB
