By: Bill Washinski SteelerNation.com   With growing speculation that Ben Roethlisberger will return for another run for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2021, many early mock drafts have them moving up to the 10th pick for North Dakota State Bison QB Trey Lance. Lance, a redshirt freshman in 2019, was outstanding in his first season with […]

Hell no. We need all the picks we can get to fill spots. Lance is nowhere near a sure thing.

I've never seen the guy play. Highlight tapes of college play are uneven from my experience. Considering the quality of competition I'm not sure I would draft the guy much less trade up for.

Lance seems to have all of the tools you want in a QB, but lacks the experience going through his progressions from the various clips of him I've watched. Then again, I've heard a similar criticism for Justin Fields as well.

with all of holes and needs, is he worthy to move up for? Seems like there are too many question marks to do so for him.

I don't believe you need to be from a power whatever school to succeed in the NFL. But if you are looking at somone's tape and it is against this type of competition, how could you measure it. I could show you CFL guys doing amazing things against even better competition than that. But they are not NFL QB's. and there is a reason.

Man the 10th is very pricey. Make it the 20th and we'll talk.

I just don't know how you can evaluate this kid. Especially with no combine. What is this big move up the boards from?

They are guessing. I see him at the 15 to 25 range. I know that is a significant range but the pro days will swing one way or another.

I'd rather wait add pieces to the oline or running back see what Rudolph really is and then draft a more sure fire prospect if needed down the road.

I am thinking the route the Steelers will go is T and RB. I don't see the kid falling regardless enough for the Steelers to bite. With Ben returning they will do their usual approach - probably.
