Should the Steelers trade Shamarko Thomas?

I was excited when we drafted him, but now, not so much. Is he a special teams monster now? Steelers will keep him on the roster this season, but after that.......SEE YA!!!!!!!!
 
I'm not sure we could even get a cold cheeseburger in trade for him.
 
Why would a team trade for a safety from a team in need of safety help? I'm sure the Steelers would love to trade him to get back a draft pick. But I can't think of a situation where another team would bring him in. Hell he sucks here why would he be any better there? Also why would Thomas be any better than what they could get off the scrap heap? I don't see it happening.

This is my concern. Teams who trade for a safety are in need of a safety. Who is more in need of a safety than the Steelers? If we're trading him away, who's taking? My guess is: nobody. Let's sweeten the deal with Dri Archer. Maybe a team who is in love with speed will fall for that "we can find a use for him" okie doke we fell for. Let's face it, if he can't see the field for any significant number of offensive snaps with Bell AND Bryant out, when will he ever? He is not useful to the team at all whatsoever.
 
i'd call up Lovie Smith and Tampa and see if they'd take him for Alterraun Verner.

Why?

Verner's not starting. He's not even 2nd team. He's pretty much warming a bench and we could use another CB, since we have no CBs.

The problem with these types of trades (or any trades in the NFL during the season) is that you have limited roster spots. Who backs up Allen if he gets hurt? How many CBs are you going to keep? ETC... I can't see a team willing to bring Thomas on their roster. If they are that desperate for a safety Thomas isn't going to be on their short list.
 
oh, i know. i'd think we could slip Gay at Safety if Allen got hurt.
