Should the Steelers pursue Lamar Jackson?

Even if he was the BPA, no way in hell, QBs that run alot rarely work in the NFL. We need to get guys that are going to play very quickly while Ben is here, not waste a first on a guy that is going to be no help what do ever for a few more seasons

Would be interesting weapon if you make him Slash2. Make teams prepare for the wildcat each week. 5 wide (Brown, Bell, JuJu, Bryant, Jackson)
Defend that!

Hell no I would not even consider him an option. We have bigger needs plus I don’t have confidence this guy can be successful as a QB in the NFL. Let some other team experiment with him, just not this team.

Being an ACC fan, I've seen him play a lot. Great athlete, strong arm, dazzling play maker no doubt. Not a good passer though. Receivers have to come open before he throws, which won't work in the NFL most of the time. Doesn't throw receivers open.

Some people compare him to D Watson. No comparison. Watson was a far better passer in college. Sure, Clemson had better receivers, but they don't sniff the Natty without Watson. He dominated in big games. I don't see that with Jackson.

That many? Seems crazy, but, i guess, if he is your only offense, it is what you do.

Yes they ran alot of read option. And alot of straight QB runs. When passing he will stand in there and deliver the ball. Doesn't look to just run at first opportunity. Mechanics needs to be cleaned up. Also had the highest drop rate of the top rated QBs in this class

He and Allen were the QBs i liked in this draft. Most upside. Both could sit and learn for a couple of years. No pressure to throw them in. Allen has shot up the draft boards so that leaves Jackson. I dont take him if there is ILB who meet the value of 28. Only safety at this point i consider is Harrison. Alot of value could be at corner too. But do they go that route? Do they trade up to ensure they get Evans or Esch. Or if Smith Edmunds or Derwin James falls to around 20 do they go snatch one of them. Or do they finally trade back deep draft to do so.

I guess a Tri Lamb would be ok. Does have a wicked limp wristed throw.

well coach said he don't want him so which do I believe?

Mel is from Baltimore and a huge Ravens fans. He probably sees Jackson as the next Kordell Stewart and knows such a player would help the Ravens pass the Steelers.

I actually meet Mel at a Miami Hurricanes game. He was a seat ahead of me. A real good guy, he loves to talk draft. Seated next to Mel was a guy with slicked back Gordon Gecko like hair, who treated everyone like dirt. His name? Drew Rosenhaus, Mel's agent. I betcha Mel pumps the players Rosenhaus signs.

Mel Kiper said last week the Steelers could possibly trade up for him should he drop.

Kiper is an idiot. If I had a dollar for every time that guy has been completely off the mark, I'd have many, many dollars

Neither did Allen and he is under consideration to be picked no 1

Yes, and Allen being considered for pick #1 is equally as ridiculous as the Steelers burning their first-rd pick on Jackson. Lets not forget who has that 1st pick of the draft
