McFarland needs more time to develop so the game slows down for him. His eyes are moving faster than his feet. He also needs to develop patience for allowing the blocking to setup. Against the WFT- he had shown flashes of this ability. I don’t think he’s a bad player at all. I’d rather see Derek Watt used more than Samuels. Sounds silly- but he did play the role of a 3rd TE as well as a swing FB for the Chargers. He has good hands out of the backfield. He’s also had a few snaps as the half back and did the job with The Chargers.

Maybe but I wouldn’t dress him until he takes a few giant steps forward. He’s a liability and definitely not as good as Whyte was.

Personally I didn’t have McFarland as a draftable player. His teammate who isn’t even in the league anymore Javon Leake had more NFL potential IMO.
