One battle that isn’t talked about enough in my opinion is Dan Moore and Chucks battling it out for LT. Dan has really impressed this training camp and through the preseason. I really wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him get the start. The only reason is maybe they don’t want two rookie starters on the oline but IMO he’s earned it.

I think he should! Guy was a beast at my alma mater playing against the best that college football had to offer.
Chuks stinks in my opinion! Let’s go with the youngsters in Big Dan Moore, Big Dot, and Kendrick Greene. They will have growing pains but will get better every week.

I agree with him being starter but a big reason why is exactly what Allsteelers said, he competed against the best when in college so he is a little step up in that regards. Sure he is a rookie but I also think he is a very battle tested rookie.

If he isn't starting I've got a feeling by week 4-8 somewhere n there, he will be but not because of injury.

If steelers need to pull chukes for poor play,, ben will be broken.

I'd hope its a short leash and before BEN gets killed. Who knows what as Moore could still end up the starter.

The main issue with Chucks is pass blocking. Here is a excerpt from PFF after the Lions game.

It wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, though, as Chukwuma Okorafor struggled yet again adjusting to his new left tackle position. After earning a 29.6 pass-blocking grade last week, Okorafor allowed five pressures on only 29 pass-blocking snaps.

Curious as to what Moore's PBG (pass-blocking grade) would be? Moore has had oppertunity against 1s on down, when he was in 3rd qrtr he was a man amongst boys. I just hope the better player gets the nod as I want whats best for the team in the big sceem of things.

You wonder how short that leash is.

Great find aND READ on Dan Moore. I hope he isn't under used and Oakofor gets a free ride. I think if Chukes has a problem Moore is inserted right away.

We don't need a project at left tackle so if Oakofor is that then I'd petition for Moore, a battle tested in college and as the article says, pretty savy in the pros as well.

If it was an actual competition you'd think Moore would be starting. He's far outperformed Okorafor this preseason. You have to wonder if it simply comes down to the coaching staff worrying about Moore failing by throwing him into the fire too soon. All I know is Okorafor was the worst OL last year and it looks to be the same at a more important position this year.
