Seriously....How can you be happy with Vick's performance? Maybe it's just me.....

Didn't take long at all for that 5 / 50 streak to end.

It wouldn't have if he caught the TD he dropped. But let's blame Vick. No Haley. No better yet Tomlin

He is a backup QB. He did enough to win. Had they won he would have needed one of the next three to do his job and keep the team at 500. The coaches ****** it. Period.

He's a backup that had ONE full practice with the starters before Thursdays game. People are completely ignoring the fact that it was a short week, play Sunday, meetings/film Monday, practice Tuesday, walkthru Wednesday, game Thursday.

For the next game he'll have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday taking all the reps with the starters.

There were some good things I saw from him, and some things he still needs to learn for this offense, but I blame Haley for poor play calling, and Scobee for missing FG's. Lets face it, he SQUEAKED his first two in, I'll never be confident with him going out to kick a FG.

Hitting short passes...easy....124 yards in the nfl vs a hated rival, simple. Losing a game by inept FG kicker, comes with the territory. Coach starting a new thread on a whim,"just because", PRICELESS

For everything else, theres Visa.

Because if he starts 94,000 threads, this year, he'll win a prize.

My take on Vick is he showed us he can manage a game. I do think with Bell and Williams in the backfield having success running the ball will serve him well especially with play action. He throws it deep with nice touch and does it very well, probably as good if not better than Ben. But this offense has gotten so accustomed to the fire drill chaos that Ben executes so well. Vick doesn't have the pocket presence that Ben does so he takes the sack or tries to adlib while not looking downfield. We will struggle in that area.

We are reminded how inconsistent our offensive line can be at time. A couple plays Vick had time to set and throw. In the latter part of the game, things broke down and he took sacks.

Ben has a style unlike any other and this offense is predicated on that style which results in big plays. Any other QB behind this line is not gonna mirror that success. One on one matchups with Bryant or Brown will work with Vick, crossing patterns not so much or patterns that take time to develop. I do think some bootlegs could be successful. But I think short passes aren't playing into Vicks strong suit. Haley can do a better job but its asking a lot for players that are used to such an unorthodox style Ben plays. A completely different style.

He managed the game. Yes, very pedestrian numbers but the biggest one is 0 turnovers. Wasn't bad with one practice. Maybe we should reiterate to Haley that Vick is left handed and Bell is his running back. Vick should have a better outing next week against San Diego with sometime to get a full week of practice in the with the first team. That should help.

I have a hard time putting so much blame on Vick for this game, only because he had like, 2 days to prepare to start after coming in as relief for Ben on Sunday. It's not like they were playing against a team that knows nothing about the Steelers offense -- it was the Ravens, who have been a tough out for the Steelers for years under Harbaugh, and even before under Billick. There's a reason that this is the best going rivalry in the NFL right now.

Vick clearly has limitations, but it was Haley's job to call plays to Vick's strengths and that really didn't happen.
But, we HAVE TO BLAME Vick because he's that same QB from 13 years ago...

Vick may have had two days to prepare but he is a QB with experience, he will never beat anyone in the pocket. When you as a QB can't pick up the third and shorts and fourth and short you take some blame.
How many "types" of QB's are there? Now, tell us which type do you think Mike Vick is???

My lower back hurts this morning and I'm still slightly drunk - it's Vick's fault.

I didn't get any ***** after the game last night - it's Coach Haley's fault.

It's raining in Jacksonville today - THAT's Coach Tomlin's fault.

Now I get it!!! :emmersed:

Just give the ball to Bell on 4th and short either time and we win. A coach's job is to call plays to the strengths of the team, not ask a shaky kicker with accuracy issues to win you a game or protect a lead.

I'd rather Tomlin and Scobee star in the " Wanna Get Away " commercial for South West. I'm more than sure some fans would pay for them to get a 1st class one way ticket.

I wanted him to get the ball too but it was no guarantee he was doing a whodini act for every yard he got.

Vick was par for the course. A more accurate pass to Brown would have won the game, but it was poor play calling and terrible kicking that lost this game.

Are you saying the Vick played well? Count the # times the ball was thrown inaccurately. DHB having to get on a ladder to make a remarkable jumping catch. Missing AB horribly on 4th and 1. AB having to reach back to catch the ball thrown high & behind him.

Yes, AB missed that one, but yes Vick played poorly. Haley called a bad game. And YES, Tomlin made stupid decisions, mind boggling, if you will. And Josh Scobee sucks. There is plenty of blame to go around.

No, no, no!!! All QB's play EXACTLY the same and I will not believe otherwise...

Frequent poster of the year..............? Quantity....over all else

I'm certain it's more like this...

Vick played more then well enough to win. Yes those passes were off target but if you aren't going to hold Brown just as accountable for the drop of a perfect pass for a TOUCHDOWN. I can't give your argument any substance.

Hitting short passes is easy. Passing for just 124 years is easy. But the true mark of a QB is converting on third down.

Vick was just 2 for 13 on 3rd down. Terrible. The man has poor overall accuracy and almost no touch on the short to medium stuff. If Vick is throwing a low arching fast ball, then he appears to be more accurate.

Our big play ability with Brown was gone. Brown had but 42 yards, and he's open as often as any receiver. Miller wasn't used....but he is often open over the middle which is where interceptions happen if your not accurate.

Vick had a fine ground game going for him.

I'd give Vick a C-, but will say that dumb coaching calls sunk the team. I still say start Vick. We would have given up at least to turnovers with Landry Jones at quarterback.

Actually, I think passing for 124 years is nearly impossible.

He didn't do enough to win the game, but he also didn't lose it. I can't get on his case when I was sure he would have turned it over three times. And when you have a stooge like Tomlin on the sideline and a doofus like Haley backing him up, you have bigger issues than your backup qb.

So what youre saying is that even with a healthy Ben, with our coaching staff, we still would have lost this game to Baltimore ? I mean with the "bigger issues...." statement.

I'm not here to argue, just to agree with everyone else about how bad we sucked last night. The only bright spots that I saw last night was Heyward, Tuitt, and Ross Cockrell.

He played like a guy who has started maybe 10 NFL games, not more than 100.

The bar has been lowered about as far as it can go when judging him.

Last week the offense scored 12 points this week 20 he played well enough on one day of practice

He was brought in more than a month ago to be the backup QB, which means you have to be ready to play right away.

To me he didn't look that way.

He'll need to improve or the team will be 0-for-however-long BR is out.

And Haley needs to step up his game; he didn do a lot to help him (Vick).

Perfect example: Pretty early in the third quarter, defense gets a stop, Ravens punt, Steelers start from their own 20.

What does Haley call?: He has Vick drop back to pass on three straight plays, two resulting in sacks.

Berry gets off a bad punt and the opponent begins in Steeler territory (I think for the first time this season, according to that CBS graphic).

To me that was the turning point of the game.

He couldn't even make one dink and dunk in several short yardage situations when even just one of those conversions would've won the game last night. Not even a game manager.

He played well enough to save a win. Its not his fault the ******* kicker shanks or nearly shanks everything that comes off of his foot. He nearly missed the kick in the first half. I still don't see how Scobee comes outta this will less focus on the reason for the loss than Vick or Tomlin. I really don't get that. Im the coach, I put you in the game to do ONE JOB. Not a 55 yarder, not a 50 yarder...but I give you a chance for a 42 and 45 yarder and you miss BOTH....why would I grant you another opportunity ?

Scobee man....if you wanna point to one play or one event that lost this game, look no further than that ****** kicker. ONE ****** JOB MAN....HE DOES HIS JOB ONE TIME, theres no overtime..there is no 4th down failure, no trivial playcalling.....we are 3 and 1, end of discussion. PERIOD.

Scobee has been shaky from the opening game.

Tomlin had no business letting him try a 49-yarder, into the wind no less.

You punt, pin them back and let the defense - with the crowd cheering them on - get after it.

Sometimes I think the Steelers need to add a Crucial Decisions Coach. Big mess-up by Tomlin there.

DHB wasn't a bright spot ? Coats coming in for relief of Wheaton wasn't a bright spot...Bell amassing over a buck in rushing wasn't a bright spot. What ****** game did you watch again ?

And here to agree with everyone else...........? Pack mentality...the notion of independent thought foreign on you ? How bad we sucked last night...? you didn't watch the game...admit it
