Seriously....How can you be happy with Vick's performance? Maybe it's just me.....

How the hell can you be happy with the performance Vick turned in tonight?

19 for 26 for 124yds 1 TD. With the weapons he has at his disposal to put up numbers like that is just pathetic! Seriously he has the best supporting cast around him of any QB in the NFL. And I got news for ya the Rats D is terrible and that's the best he can do? What do you think is gonna happen @ San Diego, vs Cardinals, @ KC & vs Bungles? Those teams all have a defense that is light years better than the Rats Vick hung a 124yds on.

Vick threw for 30+ yds in the final two and a half quarters when it mattered most! He was starring down his primary WR's the whole night! I saw him check down once maybe twice to a safety valve underneath. The Chargers DC sees that in tape next week this performance by Vick will look like Hall of Fame numbers compared to next week vs the Chargers.

He wasn't the only reason they lost but he certainly deserves part of the blame for not being able to move the team downfield and putting our Defense in bad situations!

It's time to either give Landry Jones a chance or dust off Homestead Charlie Batch and let him play the remaining games while Big Ben is out. He already knows Haley's playbook too!

This pretty much sums up how I feel about this game.....

I think Vick will play better next game. He definitely looked shaky and the confidence wasn't there with his throws. Landry Jones sucks.. don't forget that. The coaches play calling and the kicker loss this game for us. Vick didn't play great but he almost matched Flacco's numbers and Flacco is their starting franchise QB.
 
He didn't do enough to win the game, but he also didn't lose it. I can't get on his case when I was sure he would have turned it over three times. And when you have a stooge like Tomlin on the sideline and a doofus like Haley backing him up, you have bigger issues than your backup qb.

So it's Vick's fault the play wasn't called for him to the hand ball off to Leveon?? I'm not sure your point.
 
This is a stupid ******* thread. Vick has hardly been with the team he played better than one could have expected. The guy is human. Every fuking one wants superman. Been the sad fuking story of his life. Worry about the fuking kicker.
 
Vick couldn't move this team down the field the whole game! It was a terrible performance by Vick. Coaching didn't help but Vick starred down WR's and the more Defensive Coordinators see that in game tape the more they will exploit it. If Vick doesn't toss 3 or 4 INT's vs the Chargers I'll be amazed because he didn't look over the field when he threw tonight. He looked at his primary and starred him down. That's a recipe for disaster!

If this was Landry Jones stats for a game I'd say well it was to be expected but when you have an experienced QB like Vick with the weapons the Steelers have...possibly the best WR & RB in the NFL not to mention a great supporting cast and you put up 30yds throwing the football over the final 2 1/2 quarters it was a bad performance!

Vick set up Scobee who knows how many times. The offense moved the ball enough to at least put 3 points on the board. Which in this game would have been enough to win the Steelers this game
 
I'd give him one more start, vs. Chargers.

If he isn't markedly improved, then let Jones start at home vs. the Cardinals.
 
Yeah Landry ******* Jones would of done much better. Did you watch pre-season at all?
 
AB dropped one in the end zone he normally catches....Vick did....okay.

he took a few sacks, but he also ran for some good yards when there was nothing

Tomlin and Haley set him up to fail.
 
anyone that wants Laundry has lost their damn minds....

They're likely going to lose to the Cardinals anyway.

Let's see what Jones can do. If he's awful, pull him after the first half.

But give him a shot, that's all.
 
The Steelers should drop Vick by parachute into Iran.

The ************ would immediately overthrow Ali Khamenei.

With a major assist from the Steelers' run defense, which gave up nearly 200 yards.

And Vick's average of fewer than 5 yards per pass attempt is unacceptable.

But a lot of good points in this thread.

To add there is backups that can throw 200/300 hundred yards in a game. Tomlin just chose to bring in his buddy. Guy he liked since Vick dogged his way out of prison.

Really goes back to the same complaint many of us have had for awhile now.

Offseason personnel moves have been suspect at best.

Vick can't play anymore. That's why he was unemployed, eating cheetos on the vouch.....then tomlin called. Everyone in the league knows that Vick can't play.....well..exempt Tomlin.
 
Wow! I can't believe anyone has any optimism regarding Vick. Hey! Goat-he-be made two FGs, he's not so bad!
 
Vick was bad. He looked like he had no ******* idea what he was supposed to do. Not too surprising considering he hasn't been around all that long, but at least he didn't fumble or throw picks.

Tomlin, Haley and Scobee lost this game, not Vick.

Vick's a 15 year vet, he HAS been around all that long. Many of the coaching decisions were centered around his limitations. He didn't lose the game, but it's pretty clear he isn't going to help win games.

Agreed. I meant he hasn't been around the Steelers all that long, and he's not the sharpest tool in the shed either. They dumbed it down so much it looked like they were running a 10 year old Pop Warner offense, and he didn't even do that very well. I winced as he almost got Bell and Brown killed on a couple of occasions with his throws.
 
You can ***** about Haley all you want, and I agree I would've rather seen Bell with the ball on 4th and 1. But Brown was wide open on that last play and a real NFL QB hits that pass 99% of the time. Vick isn't one of those any more.

Having said that, the Ravens suck and the Steelers would've won the game if they had a real NFL kicker. This was their best chance to win while Ben is out and they blew it.

100% agreed. Tough loss - no excuses; but, c'mon - why not give the ball to Bell on ONE of the 4th down attempts that Coach Haley had Vick run a QB sweep??? I'm still confused about that call...

***I didn't join the thread last night, but, the "NO FASK MASK CALL" on Vick on that 3rd down sack killed the drive as well.
