So the Steelers, who have already lost Trice for the season, just waived injured Duke Dawson. That may not seem like a big deal to most, but the guy has been in the running for a slot DB role…competing with Sullivan and Riley…
With JPJr missing the last preseason game, Norwood out with an injury, and all three top safeties missing time in camp, this secondary is hardly putting its best foot forward right now.

Yeah they signed two cornerbacks as result and I believe brought in one to two others for look-sees. You definitely don't want to overuse rostered corners due to injury. Glad they jumped on addressing it.

They also can bring in a more experienced corner come cut downs. That wouldn't shock me to see that happening come final 53.

It’s still early but …………………….

At least they are trying by bringing in the tires to kick…………………..

Could be a couple tires once final cuts are made as well…………..

They all have nfl football names. That's good.

Especially this guy!

Mariano Sori-Marin

Might be the first Mariano to play in the NFL :)

Now I have to Google him..
Throw on the tape of Minnesota Golden Gophers linebacker Mariano Sori-Marin, and you see one of the more decisive middle linebackers in college football.

At a position like off-ball linebacker, which comes with a steep learning curve and as many mental challenges as physical, it’s natural to see players second-guessing. But that doesn’t bog Sori-Marin down. In fact, he welcomed the responsibility of getting everyone lined up in the right spot on a Minnesota defense that finished the 2022 season ranked tied for third in the FBS in points allowed per game (14.2) and 11th in expected points added (EPA) allowed per play (-0.181).

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound linebacker doesn’t just use his advanced knowledge of the game and rabid film study to get in the right spot, either. His 4.62-second 40-yard dash landed in the 71st percentile among off-ball linebackers in PFF’s database, with his 2.64-second 20-yard split placing him in the 82nd.

To update the injuries looks like Herbig's shoulder is minor. Larry O is in a walking boot so who knows the time line on that injury. I would guess he would be shut down until game 1.

Loudermilk has been tearing up practice in his absence, apparently… somewhere Stryker is crying 🤣

This is definitely concerning, I believe he has the walking boot on the same foot that required surgery and that supposedly was now 100% healed. This could be trouble in the river city.

We should see if he can get an interview with him.
