Just saw this...

@RapSheet: This is a surprise: #Falcons LB Sean Weatherspoon will hit the open market and is unlikely to be back in Atlanta. Was a priority.

I know before he was drafted there were rumors that Steelers were thinking of drafting him. Coming off an injury but does anyone know what position he would play in the 3-4?

We had a lot of interest in him coming out of Missouri. I assume we had him in for an official draft visit. I don't think he is a 3-4 OLB which means he's not coming here.

Word is that Arizona is a favorite to land Weatherspoon. Must be a pretty nice contract offer if Atlanta is going to let him go.

He plays ILB. No thanks...

.

Not to mention that his injury is a shredded achilles tendon. That is not an injury that you want a quick-twich Linebacker making a comeback from. I am not saying never... but I'm not doing it. Weatherspoon was a freak coming out... 40 inch vertical... 35 reps on the bench and over 10 feet in the BJ. A KEI number of 85... seriously athletic. Shazier is a freak and his KEI was 78. If Weatherspoon doesn't come back 100%, he will never make it. Think Sean Spence but WAY more athletic.

.
He will probably need to make his living as weak inside backer in a 3-4 or a Will backer in a 4-3. Hope he makes it back. I really liked him coming out of Missouri.

Suggs is still playing after a serious injury and last time he played us he looked decent or better than decent. He looked better than the guys that were picked to replace Harrison and Woodley. Now the injury maybe a serious one and I have seen guys comeback that no one thought would play again. So I would suggest a case by case basis and evaluation prior to eliminating someone due to injury.

I want the steelers to sign either pierre thomas or (preferably) mark ingram, as a complimental rb to l'eveon

Edit: i guess it would have to be Thomas, Saints resigned Ingram overnight, it was posted 6 hrs ago lol
