Steelers place safety Sean Davis (shoulder) on Injured Reserve, add QB Paxton Lunch to the practice squad. Minkah Fitzpatrick will slide right into the free safety spot.

Davis places on IR, Coach is having a party at his place.

Since it looks like Davis injury is going to last at least 8 weeks, placing him on IR designate opens up Fitzpatrick roster spot. I know the board has its supporters and detractors for whatever opinion they fancy, which is what the board is for. This thread is for Coach to start claiming his “superior” observation of the player he’s pounded on since before he played his first down. He’s shown Coach was wrong on many hyper focused insights (missed tackles ad nauseam) but Coach will deny anything objectively measured. In his mind he will always believe the German bombed Pearl Harbor.

Enjoy your celebration of a player on IR Coach. You deserve it.

Addition by subtraction multiplied by Fitzpatrick who is 3x the player.

Davis is not the ideal starter. He played a lot due to special teams guys playing safety behind him on the depth chart.

As someone else said, we should not draft DB’s high. We should trade for them. No need to tell you on how much better the guys I wanted to draft are. You know that already .

My guess is Davis is not resigned. Many others here felt he sucked.

Let’s rid the team of the below par & stupid players.

Seven minutes.....new world record for Coach’s fastest response. Since it usually takes him days/weeks.

I can't think of two people here, other than you, who felt that Davis was a bad player/fit for this team. How about you supply some names???

Special teams guys? What ST guys were/are the better players? Matthew Thomas?

Yeah we know, your Punter was so much a better player...oh, don’t start on your Xavien Howard fetish....your hind sight is no better than anyone else. BTW Howard isn’t too thrilled with the trade either.

I know the haters are gonna look past the FO, Mr. Colbert and Coach Tomlin, complain about the Fitzpatrick signing because we should have just 'thrown the season' because we lost Ben.

Glad my balls dropped decades ago...

Dangerfield for example. Good on special teams. A reason why Davis started at safety. Before Dangerfield we traded up for a safety I did not like at all only to learn he didn’t have it above the neck. ( S Thomas )

Not hindsight. I wanted Howard over Burns and a 3rd which was offered as stated on draft day.

Reid over Edmunds. Just like I said. We can compare and contrast later :)

And the bush trade up was not worth it so far. It’s very early but his physical limitations are standing out. I would have taken M Sweat in round one. See ya Bud! And we saw dk metcalf last Sunday. He’s who I would have taken In Round two. Boy do we need a deep threat who can catch the ball. Get your popcorn ready to hear more on this in 2020-2021

Until then get the sub par and stupid players off this team!!! Moncrief, and Dupree this means you. And it goes double for the coaches starting with Tomlin.

Dangerfield > Davis. Ok. You posted it, so your own asinine opinion is officially idiotic.

Hindsight....read the definition Dumb ***. You pump Howard yet he was a 2nd round pick chosen before Davis. On top of that Howard is a CB, yet you compare the pick with Davis, a S. Everyone knows Kneal and Jackson were players Pitt wanted, yet they were gone before Pitts first rounder. Howard wasn’t considered a 1st rd prospect. If he was he was passed by every team. Who knows had he been available in the 2nd maybe Pitt would have gone CB/CB. You don’t know. Hindsight is what your argument is based on. You can’t argue because you aren’t objective. You probably never watched one Baylor game on Howard and only watched clips or read your draft mags. But please keep showcasing your idiots delight monologues to pat your back every night before you go to sleep. Gheez, be open minded for once. You are wrong....and often. Try learn to accept it so you can grow in intelligence.

Would like to see OLa and Buggs getting some reps when the hawks aimed at draining the clock McCullers should have replaced Hargrave. he is only good vs the run, and Heyward on the last 2 drives looked worn out, they need to start using Tyson as to give him breathers. We saw a piece of crap LD Walton spell Tuitt and heyward at times Buggs is twice the prospect as he was he needs to get some reps to freshen up cam and tuitt.

As I said in another thread, with Davis not "proving" himself this year, don't be surprised if the Steelers sign him to a very friendly deal to have him as our No. 3 safety. I would take Edmunds, Minkah and Davis back there with no problem.

Agree on Buggs. He should be dressing over McCullers.

With Chick hurt, Ola should be active. Guess that depends on how hurt Chick is.

Davis is not that bad. He has played different positions each year since he was drafted. And, he played them adequately - not great but adequate. This was going to be his 2nd year at his current position but he missed most of the spring and first 2 games with injuries. For the right price, I can see the Steelers bringing him back. To have a 3rd safety that can play different positions now, at the right price, and who knows the system, is something I think the Steelers would be interested in. You can't have all pros at every position. Davis would basically be a back up and situational player.
