Say it ain't so Peyton.. I don't remember this at all do you guys??

Yeah I've definitely heard of the incident.. Had no idea of the depth of the cover up, people losing jobs, scholarships, etc.. Trying to blame it on a black player.. Wtf?

Yeah I had no idea until I read an article the other day. Young and dumb like Ben was. Everyone makes mistakes.

I agree, but BEN paid for yet not charged, mistake. Payton had such a great cover up, he PAID NOTHING EVEN IF NOT CHARGED. Curious to see how this plays out. I'm sure it's a bravodo story by a bravodo hack reporter. If true, payton needs his clean cut 5-pineapple head drug through the MUD.

The documents are all there though to support the story, strange as the whole thing is. If this had been bigger years ago I'd probably question it. But his shilling during and after the super bowl left such a bad taste in my mouth and then the whole HGH thing. I don't know , all I can say is just retire and go the **** away, Peyton.

Whatever actually happened that day, when you read about how he treated her in general (she was there to HELP him after all) and how he went out of his way to trash her years later, he seems like a real dick and a liar. They could not come up with a single shred of evidence that any of the stuff he said about her was true.

he PAID NOTHING EVEN IF NOT CHARGED

It says there was an undisclosed settlement in the defamation case, so he likely paid her something. Her career seems to have been completely destroyed though.

He paid something in 2003.....

The defamation suit was settled in 2003 but terms were not disclosed.

The sad part is she moved on. Signed documents to keep her quiet and then Manning writes his book of lies about her. Sad really.

This type os **** clings like glue to Ben but bounces off Manning like he rubber

Didn't read...is this the t-bag incident? Knew all about it for years and never understood how Manning got away with it. I think they settled out of court.

Because there were adults in the room during the Ben situation.

What I mean by that is I do not think the Rooney's objected in any way to the suspension handed down by Goodell on Ben. I think they looked bigger picture, realizing that it was needed to wake his *** up. That was more important than missing a few games. Kinda like your kids. Sometimes you have to punish them. It doesn't feel good, but it is for their own good.

It seems to have worked. But Ben will always have that stigma, now.

Let me be clear. I am not even saying Ben did anything more than be an ***. But he needed a wake up call and got it before he maybe did something that could not be denied.

As for the racial double standard, let's compare the one between Ben and (insert black QB). Oh, that's right, there is none. Guess it depends on where you look.

I'd say there is one major difference in the stories. Ben was on a night of binge drinking and was trying to get a little something in the bathroom, and I've yet to hear how far that allegedly went. This was a women with a PHD trying to do her job and he was stone sober. I'm not absolving Ben of anything, but when you talk about credibility of witness, really. Plus he continued the harassment after the fact and forced her out of a job. In my eyes, Ben plied a girl with Alcohol and acted like an *******. Beyond that not a clue what happened. When people call him a rapist, I'm like **** off. You know he held her down and penetrated her. Really. You were there. My guess is he went back to get a BJ. Maybe he took too many liberties, but rapist is a real stretch of the facts.

Don't know why we have to compare any of this to Ben or Newton. This is all on Manning, and his slick entourage. If this is true, and it seems like it is well documented ,he deserves to have his reputation questioned just like anyone else. I know there are 2 sides to every story ,but it sure seems like this ladies credentials and hard work have been tarnished by the forehead. If the media can bring up James Winston stealing lobster or whatever the **** he did all the time, they can certainly investigate this a little further. Imagine if that was your daughter.

Agreed, but just FYI Jameis Winston didn't only steal lobster and other minor offenses, he was also accused of raping a girl while he was athe FSU. The school settled on his behalf for 950,000K. Probably nothing there though. She now has a civil suit against him. That's probably why his name comes up in these types of conversations.

I still think it is *patriots land trying to cause problems for other players to make Marcia look like a saint .... JUST MY opinion

Given enough time and inquiry. Most of our heroes fall.

Don't ever make the mistake of making a hero out of athletes, they are very likely to let you down.

Exactly Cope. What I've tried to teach my son's is to appreciate the skill of a great athlete the way you appreciate the skill of a great musician or artist. Try not to confuse that with worshiping the player. Though some of these players are legit good guys. I think Polamalu was a good guy and not in a showy charity look at me way. More like in a quiet good father, husband and person way. At least that is how he struck me.

Even if you are perfect, there is nothing to stop people from baring false witness on you. Oftentimes, a mere allegation is enough to make you dirty. This could be a case of a jealous woman who had her feelings hurt when Peyton didn't give her enough attention.

Did he moon players when she was present? Maybe. Stuff like that happens all the time; if you choose to work in a locker room, full of over-dosed testosterone football players expect unrefined horse play to occur. Locker rooms are full of nude bodies to begin with;
so I am pretty sure the players think nothing of baring their butts.

Did he kind of sit on her head when she was examining his foot? Maybe. Did she encourage such behavior by acting like "one of the boys" leading up to it?

Peyton was what, 18 at the time? He was already being treated like a hero. It would be easy to cross the line in that circumstance.

And do I excuse such behavior? Not in the least. Do I believe Peyton was not guilty of a "crime" during this? I do. He's been the classiest player in the entire NFL in his tenure. I don't think you can fake two decades of spotless behavior.

This appears to be about getting ratings and attention. But, boy, when you are on top of the mountain, better be careful, because that is who they love tearing down.

He was 20 or 21. The first incident, in which the information was locked up for good, was when he was 18. The t-bag was a couple years later. They ruined her career. Did you read the article?
