Saquon Barkley

yinz still want to replace Bell?

:victorious:

Barkley will be top 5 pick easily. Best RB in the NCAA definitely. The show he put on in the Rose Bowl was Heisman worthy alone. Had PSU won that game, I think he would of been in the lead for Heisman talk coming into this season for sure.

Hopefully, PSU will make it out the gauntlet of OSU, UM, and probably WISC again in the Big Ten Championship, only to probably see both Bama and Clemson in playoff then national championship game.

Please. Half of both those conferences are a joke.

No, every single guy who plays in the SEC is NFL hall of fame caliber. Just look at how all the tough competition created dominant NFL RBs like Mark Ingram, Eddie Lacy, Jeremy Hill, Trent Richardson,

Just look at how much better Derrick Henry is than Zeke Elliott in the NFL.

Barkley will be a Brown. If they pick #1 overall and he comes out, no way they screw that up. He'll never be a Steeler. We are not that bad and he's too good.

LOL - I know my beloved SEC hasn't been 'on par' as of late - and I like what I see in Barkley, but we got size and speed south of the Mason Dixon line...

On par? Outside of Alabama, that whole conference sucks. This is a bad year for the SEC.

True. Not Pitt ain't Clemson... or Louisville...

Then just say you only believe a player is good if he does well against Bama or Clemson

Barkley had 190 yards rushing vs an Ohio State defense that had Joey Bosa, Darron Lee, Raekwon McMillan, Adolphus Washington, Malik Hooker, Vonn Bell, Eli Apple, and Gareon Conley. I guess that doesn't count though.

Never said that...I just want to see him in a conference with more contenders than his current one. Regardless of how "bad" the SEC is this year and last year for that matter...

If all things go like I want this season Penn State and Aaaaaalabama(In my best Gump voice) will throw down for all thee marbles.

I dont care who he plays against you can see he has all the tools, speed, power, vision, hands, shiftiness, and is a good blocker. I dont see him ever becoming a steeler and he will more than likely go in the top 5 of the draft.

If things keep going like they are now, The Giants will be picking him. god knows they need a RB

True! However, NYG have the tools to right their ship and get themselves out of the top 5 pick location. At this point they should weigh their options for the season.
SF and LA Chargers couldn’t beat most D2 school programs at this point.

Like I said - I want to see him against SEC and ACC talent...

He's proven himself vs. Michigan and Ohio State... both of those schools are better than the 13 SEC schools not named Alabama. I'm as big an SEC fan as you'll find...and Barkley would start on 13 teams in the SEC. He's one of the two best players in the nation right now (Bakery Mayfield being the other).

Baker Mayfield could be the big winner if Deshawn Watson has a big season. Watson didn't have the classic QB measurables of size or arm strength and neither does Mayfield. Watson's success could bump Mayfield up quite a bit.

Agree Tape... and the "experts" who didn't think Watson could play just simply didn't watch him play...for FOUR years. The kid started all 4 years at Clemson (minus a few for his knee injury), had tremendous success against all teams (FSU, Alabama, Auburn, Oklahoma, etc). At some point evaluators have to look past the "measurables" and just watch a kid play. I know, team success doesn't necessarily translate to the NFL (see: Danny Wuerffel), but Watson has enough of an arm and proved it against the very best college football had to offer.

I think Mayfield will be much the same. The kid is dynamic...

The unfortunate part is that opposing teams are stacking the box against PSU to contain Barkely. Penn State doesn't have the Offensive Line to move people, so Penn States playoff hopes rely on getting Barkley into space and using him to open up lanes for the TE/wide receivers. Their success relies on McSorley to get through the season. Unfortunately, Penn States offensive line will not be able to contain Clemson or Alabama's DL...and it'll be UGLY if they play.

Clemson and Alabama will be ugly for anyone not named Clemson or Alabama. Those two football teams are playing in a different league right now. Others will catch up. Penn State is still building, Michigan is building, so is Washington. The pendulum will swing back eventually.

The Giants need an offensive line more than a RB. Their line is BAD. Saquon Barkely isn't fixing that mess.

Penn State needs a WR to step up. They miss Godwin as a go to guy. They have a bunch of young WRs with talent but so far has stepped up to be that guy. Saed Blacknall is just inconsistent. He makes big plays then disappears.

Juwan Johnson is the guy who caught the game winner against Iowa. Maybe that play will give him confidence to go to the next level. He's big and fast.

Gesicki is probably the best receiving TE in college. Teams have begun gameplanning to take him away since no WR has stepped up yet to be a consistent threat. If one of then does then this offense will really take off.

Each team has stacked the box against Barkley. It shows how good he is that he has still gained yards by making guys miss. Running is only half his game because he can run routes like a receiver.

I'm not a McSorley fan. He has played well because the system fits him but he is limited as a passer. He can be streaky too. But he is a pressure player and that's hard to find.

Tape, you're forgetting about DeaSean Hamilton. He's Penn States all time reception leader. He has been huge this season.
