Saints release Warford break out the template

"Wasn't used right" ... "Would look better in OUR black and gold" ..... "Don't have the cap space"

The additions of Wisniewski and Dobbins means he won't be coming to the Burgh, but I would've grabbed Warford a few months ago had he been released. Bad timing as far as the Steelers being a landing spot.

This more than the lack of cap space. Steelers could create room if the want was/is bad enough. But I tell ya. It would sure solidify the biggest question mark.

Looks like early reports out are the Texans are showing interest. To answer your question he would be the Steelers starter if signed we would let SW take on this backup G/C duties. Before I forget what is this crap you Canadians are sending us, snow? Don't you know this is May? [emoji16][emoji851][emoji28]
Can he play Center...........
Edit:Bears are showing interest too.

So he makes the pro bowl 3 seasons in a row. Saints sign the other guard on a 5 yr deal and draft Ruiz, and let this guy go,. Causing 5 mil in dead money. Who the hell does this? This seems really wierd to me.
I guess they viewed their depth as a strength and just signed some players (CrabLegGrabLeg for one) prompting the need to free up money. I don't know if they asked him to restructure and he refused. Or they just saw it as the position that would least result in opening a hole. Either or yeah it was still an odd happening.

Did you mean Dotson

No silly pooh, he meant DOBBINS.......................................... Dotson is some OL dude that can play there if need be whereas Dobbins IS the real deal.

You're right Bleeder, you don't drop a guy who just made 3 straight pro bowls and you still have him signed. They save just under $8M on the cut, but who drops a perennial pro bowler when they're trying to win a SB this year? Can he play LG? We already have our pro bowler at RG.

Wouldn’t hurt to kick the tires.

TOTALLY agree, bring him in and get the conversation started. With his NarWlins pay in his pocket a way more reasonable might be had and as some have said it would be an instant upgrade / fix and add stregnth to other OL area. Personally, I feel the stronger the OL is the better the O everywhere including keeping BEN upright.

We have the "bananas" to pay it's just we need to harvest them yet.

Signing him would be a Haden kind of move.

I agree, but we gave market value for Haden. I don't think we'd give market value for a player that may or may not be able to play LG when he's a RG. Ravens however NEED a RG with Yanda retiring. I would think that's the highest percentage chance at a landing spot.

This would be a good move-probably won't happen though. I would also start looking at LT unless they think Okorafor is suitable to take Big Al's place. I see Big Al being around maybe 2 more seasons tops

I think Big Al hit his ceiling last year .... and he hit it hard. Now, maybe Foster's play dropping off a cliff had something to do with that. But, a lot of the miscues he had I saw as self-inflicted. Long story short, I hope his replacement is already on the team. Otherwise, if his play continues to be a liability, we're screwed.
