Rumor- Montgomery wants out

I absolutely hated the Kaleb Johnson pick. He has really slow feet and I thought it was fairly obvious on his Iowa tape. Like watching a barge turn around on Lake Erie. The majority of his runs he was untouched going through the line where Iowa consistently dominates. I didn't get the hype last year. It was like a rerun when people were clamoring for Jarvis Jones when the vast majority of his sacks were free runs to the QB.

You all can roast me for that take if you want but I just don't see it. It'll be a new system this year and MM does like bigger backs so maybe they figure something out. I'd hate to have a 3rd rounder wasted.
 
I think things will be a lot different with Mccarthy up top. He knows a lot of what Tomlin couldn't learn. He may find a use for Johnson.
 
A 5th is pocket change for an established back.

I don’t know what contract specifics come with him, but that is re-negation-able (lol).

Bring him in / he was never used properly, vet minimum / would look goon B & G.

Well worth taking a good hard look, and if he makes you better……. You do it.

Oh if that be the case yeah you don’t try to snag him. There is others available that are attractive anyways…and they don’t have to surrender a draft pick in the process.

No one’s going to argue about the Jarvis Jones selection, allot of folks saw that coming. I’ll give Johnson another year, I didn’t focus on him in college whatsoever. I have to agree though that Iowa’s ol is impressive and could greatly enhance the performance of an average back. He did appear to have acreage of open space on some of his runs that were shown after he was selected.

We have had some head scratchers returning kicks over the last decade lol.
 
I read yesterday that he doesn't want out. Apparently he made his his first social media post in 2 years to say that.

Probably just click bait.
 
It sure would be nice to see the Steelers use some of the lower picks in the basket of 12 this year to grab OL/DL/DB/RB/WR help ahead of FA and the draft.

It would be good to see proactive rather than reactive player management with the new staff.

Only if it was for players on multi-year deals. I'd rather not go the one-year rental route and instead use the picks to maneuver around the draft.

I've just never seen a Steeler draft day when they package a 5th and two 7ths to grab a 4th. Would love that pre-draft otherwise the last 5 picks are just campfodder for other teams PS.
