I was kinda shocked to see Ventrone waived .

I don't want to start any crap about the diminutive one.

A week ago apparently the steelers were shopping a safety in Shamarko.

This week they waive ventrone. Who is/ was a VERY GOOD special team player. At least I thought so.


If you have some insight I would like to hear it.

Ventrone was hurt during the SD game. He will be brought back when he is healthy. No point in cutting a healthy player and keeping an injured Ventrone at this point in time. Gives them a week or so to sort out who they want to cut for good.

Right. It's likely the Steelers can pick him back up again if needed. Over the years its clear Tomlin loves back up special teams players. Nix is doing well on special teams which is why he's here. Ventrone was a good special teams guy but can't play right now.

They must not watch the games. Seriously. Nix played a ton and Will Johnson is basically the third TE at the moment.

I suspect it's one of those things where they cut him because he's injured and they know no one will pick him up, then they can add him back in a couple weeks when he's better and someone else is hurt.
