Roquan Smith, how much would you offer in terms of draft picks to move up for him?

to me, their game style is similar. Smith is, obviously, faster and more confident in his speed, but Evans has played all over the LB corps. While Evans may be a bit slower, he's a bit larger, too.
i don't recall Ray Lewis lighting it up when he ran a 40, because he didnt.

40-time doesn't necessarily equate to stardom. look back over the results and see for yourself.

Smith may be more polished as an ILB, and I won't deny that I'd rather have Smith, but drafting 28th, Evans is very comparable to Smith.

this will be Timmons/Lee, Part 2.

Yep you have a few draftnicks around here is relying way too much on speed. For every Ryan Shazier you have a Steve Conley.

IMO, he and Evans are almost interchangeable. If Evans would run, we'd have a better comparison, and Evans may even help himself. As it is... both are pretty much the same size, played in the same conference and have a similar game.
if we draft Evans, and his groin issue isnt an issue going forward, we'll have made one helluva selection.

And I shall buy you a beer on Thursday if this happens! Meet me at the stadium - free entry!!! Call me when you can...

What Ive seen of Evans always seems to be him stuffing the run or blitzing and tracking QB. What is he like in coverage?

See if you can go back and watch some of the Bama games over the past two years - I absolutely agree w/ Supe - Evans and Smith are very identical and it's a blessing that he, Evans, didn't run and may be there for us at 1.28...

One has very good speed. The other who played with an all star DL needs to prove his.

Check our Smiths video. .

Unless it is atrocious, i don't care what the exact number is. What I care about is that, after all of this time, the only reasons not to do it are a) They ARE atrocious or b) the injury is worse than advertised. I don't think it is a because it didn't look that way in videos i watched, which leaves b. Now, how bad IS that injury?

I've heard almost that same phrase before......

No chance we get RS...none. The price is far too high.

Evans' highlight video.

The best part of these highlights is the fact that Evans does beat blocks by offensive lineman several times. He is quick inside the tackles, but on the plays that go outside, his speed issues are apparent.

With the exception they knew Jones ****** combine stats, there was no guessing.

But Heath turned out just fine.

Anddddd Jones also again(mentioned before) was exposed in bowl game for suspect run D. To go along with his medical concern. (Stenosis)

More question marks, which is why he slid as far as he did.

The point was that Colbert noted that he was happy JJ performed so well at the combine so that he would slide to them.....basically the same as what Berm said.

Honestly, i didnt want JJ but it had nothing to do with his combine stats, it was worry about his Stenosis. I could see what the coaches could see based upon game results and how they could expect that he would be better than he turned out. So, i didn't hate the pick like many here.

I liked the pick for how far he slid, and put aside his many danger danger alarms.

But I just don't think it is accurate to compare their combines.

One didn't perform all the drills due to a injury factoring in.

Evans combine will always be incomplete. I think in that aspect it is unfair to compare.

If Evans is the pick I will have to put faith in the Steelers, much like I would if LVE was the pick.

For me right now I am hoping Reid is the pick more for being the safer pick.

But Tomlin doesn't live within his fears !

:becky:

Kind of the way I am leaning. In mocks shortly after the combine, I slotted Reid as the Steelers 2nd round selection. But realistically, there is no way he drops to 60. I believe he turns into a really, really good pass defender.

You still owe me a Long Island Iced tea.
