Eh, it's something to do.
What else am I going to be doing when it's 15 degrees outside (plus I have an infant at home along with a 2-year old)? Any excuse to fry up some wings, cook some barbecue and whip up a few cocktails will do...
Plus there is only one Super Bowl. It's the only time our entire country slows down to watch an event in unison. It's everything that's good and horrible about our country wrapped in one. The commercials are usually a complete disappoint and the halftime show is beyond stupid (in no other country does a sporting event need to include a concert...).

Will watch, but not enamored with the game. I'm a Steeler fan and when we aren't playing it just isn't the same. Wish both teams could lose but if I had to pick I will go with Seattle. Can't stomach the Pats winning or their fans bragging about a team with no integrity.

I'm rooting for the Patriots just because all you whining vaginas are so anti-Belichick it's starting to bother me now.
All the conspiracy **** around here is stupid. The NFL isn't falling apart. You aren't watching less. The Patriots don't cheat as much as you think nor any more/less than all the other teams. The NFL is still, by far, the most competitively balanced professional sport in the country. It's regular season still matters the most (by far) of any other sport. The playoffs are still must-see reality TV. And no other sport works better with fantasy and gambling.
It's only potential downfall is concussions (although that could be the downfall for multiple sports) and that is still decades away from causing a real decline in available talent for the game. As long as the money and fame are there, kids are going to play, parents are going to let them and colleges will grind out the talent.
I am so sick of the whiny ****** attitude about this sport around here. It's pathetic. Just because the Steelers are underachieving under the Tombert regime, you guys all bring your whiny attitude to everything else too. The playoffs were GREAT this year. The best two teams are in the Super Bowl and we have one of the closest Vegas point spreads of any Super Bowl ever.

I couldn't care less anymore. This league is in shambles and besides, I can't stand the Pukeriots. I do hope the Seahawks do what they did to Manning and the Broncos last year. I'm waiting to see what this paper commissioner does about the deflated ball issue after the SB.

So....you are a Patriots fan. Whoopie. Go to a Patriots board. They are ******* scumbag cheaters. You seem like the kind of guy that would try to rig your kid's little league baseball game and be perfectly ok with it.
When I lived in PA BTW, a little league team my kid was playing snuck a 9 year old onto a 5 and 6 year old team for the championship game. The kid went 4-4 with 4 home runs. After the game they got caught and DQ'd. You probably think they were just smart to try it.

This will be a historic game, "deflategate bowl" no matter who wins, plus commercials and the halftime *****, won't miss it.
No ...no.. not really no blending ..Its really not that difficult if thats all that bothers you...don't read it..again its your opinion if you think the Pats are top notch thats fine you wanna root for them to win thats fine..but dont root for them to win because others are whiney lemmings ...sure as hell does not mean everyone has to be a lemming to you..what I see is someone who found a nerve in many people and is poking and poking at said nerve just to see the reaction ..listen I firmly think the balls had nothing to do with the win over the Colts...but I also firmly think the Pats will stretch/break the rules in all ways until they get caught...then stand there like the kid with his hand in the cookie jar ..what..what it wasn't me.
Spygate happened. Can't change the history. They got caught cheating. The question of integrity for 3 Super Bowl wins is in question for a lot of us, not just Steeler fans. There's no kool-aid drinking here, this is reality.
The whole deflated ball issue isn't a coincidence. This is a franchise that pushes the line with legal/illegal to the point where they have again put the integrity of the game in question. Tired of seeing or reading about it? Maybe Goodell will drop a hammer on them like he did on the Saints and then we can get on to mocking mocks, bitching about why the FO didn't take the entire allotted time to pick a player in each round of the draft, drafted Zo Jackson, Limas Sweed & every other bust's equivalent.

I never said it was a coincidence. I suspect it was a plan Harbaugh and Pegano have been hatching for some time just ready to release at the right moment when their buddy Mike Kensil, who worked for the Jets when Belichick jilted them and is now NFL director of football operations. Sure... no conflict of interest there....
Again, the closest thing I can relate this too it the old "curved stick" routine you see in the NHL. Is the curved stick illegal? Yep. Is playing with underinflated balls illegal? No. Only tampering with the balls during the game is illegal. But playing that "gotcha" card at the right moment might make the difference between winning and losing. And why not do it against a team with the "cheating" reputation?
You're not wrong with your thinking. The ball issue didn't change the outcome of the AFCCG, however the integrity of the franchise puts the NFL in a spot where they have to drop a hammer. Goodell himself said ignorance isn't a defense when he banned Payton for a year. If others knew and waited for the Pats to get caught on the grandest scale, then damn good job laying in wait to rat them out. There will be consequences for what happened. As a fan, the last thing I want to worry about is whether one team is cheating to give themselves an edge. Let these teams line up and may the best team win, for every game. NE has toed the line for far too long. Conflict of interest or not, 11 out of 12 footballs were under inflated and in violation of league rules. None of Indy's footballs were under inflated.
I have no doubt in my mind as a Steeler fan that NE knew our plays as we called them in 01' & 04' AFCCG losses and that contributed to us losing those games. I feel as if they got off easy last time. I hope this time the NFL recognizes the damage done and recognizes them as a repeat offender of the rules, NE deserves harsh punishment. I'll wait for that hammer to drop and I'm ready to turn the page on the 2014 season. FA and the draft await.

Again, deflecting the debate into anger/insulting me just shows me I'm presenting a logical case none of you can actually argue against with facts. That's fine.
I do hate this message board when the Patriots are brought up, which seems to happen a lot when they have success and the Steelers don't. It is the same thing every... *******... year... around here. As soon as the Steelers are eliminated from the playoffs and the Patriots are still in it inevitably on a Steelers Message Baord, 2-3 posts happen about how evil and conniving and a waste of human feces Bill Belichick, Tom Brady or Robert Kraft is. Anytime a high-profile article about the Patriots happens it will find it's way again TO A STEELERS MESSAGE BOARD.
Ho hum... here we go again with the lemmings all waiting in line to see who can add the most childish phrase, video or gif insult to the a Patriots thread on A STEELERS ******* MESSAGE BOARD.

Every time the Patriots are brought up it just reminds me how stupid and ignorant some of you are and while I try to convince myself otherwise when we talk about the Steelers you all are eager to reveal you silly, childish feelings of inadequacy by yelling cheater, cheater every time this one opponent succeeds at something. If my kid acted this way at his cub scouts pine wood derby race (in which he came in 2nd to a car that CHEATED btw), I would discipline him and tell him it's wrong to point fingers at other and instead concentrate on doing things yourself better.
You guys just can't get there when it comes to the Patriots and you never will obviously.
