Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could be set for one last major contract, but he’s not concerned about setting a record with it.

Roethlisberger said Sunday at his football camp that he would rather set records with wins, and he’s willing to leave some money on the table to better reward teammates.

Ben has 135 career wins, and should be able to catch Marino, and Elway.. Passing Favre or Peyton Manning for career wins is not out of the question either.

So very easy say when you made as much as he has over his career. They are in two different places money wise

I guess you missed Ben's hometown discount on his last contract, which is where he made the most money. Ben left the Steelers some extra room ( he could have received more ) allowing the Steelers some extra cap space to retain their own free agents or sign new ones. He is willing to do so again!

If Bell were about winning, he would sign the franchise tag deal and work with his new offensive coordinator in camp. Bell knows exactly what he will be making in 2018. The Steelers have made him offers to be the highest paid running back...by far.

Guess you missed where i debunked that..he didnt give the steelers a hometown discount.. he signed a deal right on par of what he should of been making

By where he should be ($$$) by who's standard? The market for QB's?

Yes the market for QBs..

And i already know where you are going.. and yes Bell is trying to reset the RB market. Which is why he hasnt signed. Not sure why people feel he has to settle for what the market is. If he feels he can reset it who is he hurting if he cant..nobody but himself.

So $13.5 no plus isbt resetting the RB rate? Oh wait, he want to make history on what a RB makes. A difference most here see but is blind to you.

So when Ben signed his new deal, he was making less money annually than Rodgers, less than 0.5% more in guaranteed money over Brees and just $2 million more than Ryan over three years.

Bell was offered $13.3 million per year and $42 million over 3 years (I didn't see the guaranteed amount). The No. 2 in average per year is Devonta Freeman at $8.25 million and I don't know what the guaranteed value is over 3 years, his total contract value over 5 years is $41.25 million, over $25 million less than what Bell was offered.

He signed for on par what other QBs were getting, he could've easily asked for more and hit the market and got more than what he got here.

Yes he could have but why would he have??? He signed a deal on par with other Franchise QBs. In a bidding war of course he could get more..thats the perk of being on the open market..

Bell is asking for more because he is doing more then the top backs who dont play all three downs.. other backs have signed deals that reflect not playjng all downs..the back who do are all have contracts negotiations coming up. Johnson in Arizona didnt report to mini camp.

Blind to me??? I wish he signed the deal..ive never said he didnt get a good offer. That man had to live with that not me. If he feels he can get more who am i to be upset.

Freeman and bell do not do the same things is what Bell is Bells stance. Johnson Gurley Elliot etc all feel the same way. Johnson holding out of mini camp indicates they are watching Bells situation closely

Yeah you're right they don't do the same thing, Freeman scores TDs. Freeman has more receiving tds over the last 3 seasons than Bell does in his career. Over that same span Freeman has 29 rushing TDs to Bells 19.

Why would he? To cash out, alot of teams with no QB would've paid him quite a bit more than we did if he were a free agent, that's where the discount comes in. He signed here for a decent amount less than he would get on the open market

Ok thats what happened.

I’m sick of one Le’Veon Bell. The team made a very generous offer last year that would have reset the market for his position but that wasn’t enough.

That contract could have easily set him up for his lifetime plus shot him ahead of all running backs.

Right. Now if Bell could only sign on par with that the other running backs are getting...

So you don't think a few teams would've paid quite a bit more than we did to sign a franchise QB?

You dont think the same for Bell if he hits the open market?

Signing for 1 million less then the top guy Rogers is not a hometown discount as coach indicated.

I hope that Samuels and Connor have a great camp and preseason.
Let this guy sign his tender the week before the season but rather than hand him his job like Shades did last year, ******* trade him.Get as good a return as possible since he’s gone next year anyway.
No way I sign him to 17 million or even 14 million per season. We have others whose contracts will be coming up after 2019. Pouncey, Gilbert and Ben to name a few. We will need the cap.

Yes, but Bell has more knee injures and suspensions. I'm sure Antdrewjosh will argue that point without realizing Bell is lucky to get the offer the Steelers gave him.

I wonder who averaged more per carry and catch in 2017? Our line > Atlanta's
